Bad FPS after not playing for a while

I've had COTW for little over a year now and during my early hours of playing my pc ran it perfectly fine at a range of 40-70 fps on the lowest settings and only goes down to 40 on graphically demanding areas such as the taiga. I have a pretty potato gpu but my pc still ran it perfectly fine before hand, i have a GT 1030 with an i5 core and with 16gb of ram. Fastforward to a couple of months and i decided to start playing cotw again (is stopped playing it up untill this point). And Not only did i start getting below 15 or FPS in game on every single reserve but i get even lower on the main menus. I tried everything the internet suggesting EG; cold bootup of my pc, updating my drivers to the latest, reinstalling my drivers, clearing up space, verifying game integrity files, reinstalling the game. I'm not quite sure what to do since my fps drops literally only affect hunter cotw and not on any other games. I would appreciate someone to guide me on how to fix this since i really enjoy this game.

do you play with the same settings as back then? maybe last time you used potato settings?

no, i used much higher settings back then compared to now. I practically turned cotw into a pixelated mess but i still get less than 20 fps

not at all, although i see slight minor fps drops but its just mostly due to exterior factors like overheating, I checked my gpu temps in game in cotw and its normal. Although i dont think cotw is using my gpu since its always on 0% usage. I already set my cotw to use my gpu on my windows graphics settings tho

despite those settings i fear it may be using your integrated graphics, as your gpu displays 0%

any idea on how i could fix this? I already used the nvidia control panel to prioritize my main gpu yet cotw still uses my integrated. It just refuses to detect my dedicated gpu
