Ammo with character!

Let's be honest, the ammo tab in the store gets the job done just fine and shows the ammo well enough.

HOWEVER.

It could be so much cooler! There are already several ammo boxes rendered in the game and they're cool when you come across them, but just a picture of the cartridges doesn't exactly inform the buyer.

My suggestion is really simple, take inspiration from IRL brands and make some box art for the ammo tab! Just a simple little picture will be more than enough and it could really help people SEE what the ammo works for.

Also, let's not pretend, it'll just look really freaking cool!

(If you wanna post art, go ahead, just make sure it's not gonna get the mods snooping around with torches and pitchforks)

As I said in the other thread where this came up, I’m not a gun person and only hunt in video games, and each ammo having their own very obvious visual differences on the ammo boxes would make it a lot easier to remember what ammo I actually use, so it would also be functional (of course hopefully one day we will just have a search function in the store / inventory too ^^;)

Yeah, it would probably help some folks out a bunch. Aside from that it's just kinda fun. I'd love to see CotW have it's own "brands" to play around for their stuff.

I would love this change. One of the only reasons I still play Woth is cuz of the ammo. Just having the boxes for each ammo would be really nice

Something like the pic of the super X’s or the Hornady 375’s would be ideal. Display the ammo next to the box

I had an idea for this just now. In the story missions on Hirschfelden, we interact with Robert Sommer who is described as often testing products made by companies for hunting (namely a scent lure and optics in the missions). The companies products which he is testing I game are Pinelodge Creek and Köhler & Gerhardt. I think these would make decent fake brand names for ammo boxes or other equipment that could do with a bit more character.

Alternatively we could see a similar concept to the weapons names we see in game. I'm not sure how EW decides it but many of the weapons names (like Olssen, Eckers and Strecker for example) are derived from the surnames of CotW developers, or atleast that's what i see when I read the credits in game.

So we could have ammo boxes with some art work and instead of Hornady we see the surname of one of the devs maybe or instead of Sellior & Bellot we have Köhler & Gerhardt on the box, or something similar.

Yeah, that could definitely work, they'd be great for it if ew was willing. They could even do am art contest on the server for box art and have the community participate

Thats a really fair & great idea given the narrative esp. since the multi-mounts are done by Mat (Matmat) in-game. This would not only add character but make it more immersive to the narrative. This could easily tie into other features such as my authentic ammo expansion (calibers get 2 maybe 3 ammo options to cover various class ranges), the ability to expand weapon models with various calibers, & weapon add-ons such as weapon part slots (stocks, barrels, brakes/chokes, bipods, etc.). All these features could be applied via narrative characters introduced. Like you said as its own branding. I really love the idea.

I figured but its brilliantly suggested. It would give EW the means to do it not only to expand player tactics & gameplay but a means to tie it to the games narrative & setting since they dont have licensing to use official product labels.
