#Add the DINGO to Emerald Coast!

Yes, I saw the “Outback Dunes Australia” post, and I love their idea but I just want the dingoes! :,)
(Go check out their post btw if you haven’t seen it, they’re very dedicated to it!)

Anyways, here is my idea:

Dingo, Class 3 or 4.
Similar to how Wolves chase Moose, Sheep/Ibex/Malfoun, etc in the game, Dingoes can chase kangaroos and some of the smaller game on the map.

Coats will include;
Yellow (Common)
Ginger (Common)
Tan (Common or Uncommon)
Sable (Uncommon)
Black-Tan, Solid (Rare)
Black-Tan, Broken (Rare)
Cream (Rare)
White (Very Rare)

And two Piebald Varieties,
“Half” (the orange, white and brown one) and “Splotches” (the white and brown one), which of course will both be rares.

There are also a few rare cases of Dingos being Albino in the wild!

They usually travel in groups of at least 5 to maybe 15 members, usually 10. Due to how big these packs can be, it would be cool to have a herd-management like system with a predator! (And maybe this could be a future addition to gray and Iberian wolf packs?)

Also, they’re not incredibly endangered. According to Google, people are allowed to “shoot, poison and trap dingos”. Even if they are endangered, we now have Bengal Tigers and Snow Leopards in the game, which are incredibly endangered.

What do you think?
Thank you for reading!

Hello rj.<3,

Thank you for your enthusiastic suggestion to add dingoes to Emerald Coast! Your detailed description of their behavior, class ratings, and potential coat variations adds valuable insight. The idea of implementing a herd-management system for a predator like dingoes is particularly interesting.

We appreciate your passion for this addition and will forward your suggestions to the rest of the team for consideration.

If you have more ideas or want to share further thoughts, please feel free to reach out through our support page: https://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

# covert python Yes, I saw the “Outback Dunes Australia” post, and I love their idea but I *just...

Possible Zone Times

  • Dingos feed at dawn and dusk. They will hunt kangaroo’s and feral pigs (which are both animals already on Emerald Coast). They hunt in their packs of 5-10. They can travel long distances in search of food and will invade kangaroo and feral pig feeding/drinking/resting zones in hopes of finding a meal.

  • Dingoes will go to drink water during the coolest times of the day; in the early morning and late afternoon, before their hunting trips. They may also drink throughout the night. They typically drink from rivers, streams, lakes, ponds, rainwater and man made sources like reservoirs and water troughs.

  • They sleep between dawn and dusk, during the hottest parts of the day. They sleep in dense vegetation, burrows and under trees, where it stays cool. They also may sleep in rocky-den areas.

Calls and Vocalizations

Warning Calls: Dingoes warning bark-howl. The bark-howling starts with several barks and then fades into a rising and ebbing howl and is used to warn the puppies and members of the pack.

Mating Calls: Their mating call usually consists of yelping howl/bark. Similar to a wailing noise.

Human Interaction

Dingoes usually flee from humans, but they are big enough to become dangerous and aggressive. A few attacks have been fatal. Most attacks on humans happen because the dingoes will be hand-fed by humans, causing an attack.

Weights and Sizes

The average wild dingo male weighs 15.8 kg (35 lb) and the female 14.1 kg (31 lb),
The average wild dingo male length is 125 cm (49 in) and the female 122 cm (48 in),
The average wild dingo male stands at the shoulder height of 59 cm (23 in) and the female 56 cm (22 in),

New ranking and system much?

#

Coding it would be simple, as they have the coyote to put a backboard on

covert python
#

yeah but they backboard the coyote for many other small canines, like the side striped jackal.. and… tbh it’s hideous 💀
off topic a lot of animals need to be remastered especially all the canines and the grizzly bear

Anyway, let's keep size in mind for dingos too. They need to be bigger than foxes by quite a bit to be realistic. And class 3 wouldn't bother me, it just doesn't suit class 2 at this size

what yall think of cassowary?

sweet patrol
#

I think although the dingo sounds really cool to have in the game, I think it would be more realistic if they were feral dogs instead, Purely because they are more common in the Australian outback and fall under the pest categorie like many of the other animals on emerald coast

covert python
#

Add them all atp.. they’re all cool to have

Depends on where you are. Emerald coast is based on the east coast of Queensland. This part of australia has a population of moderate to high purity dingos so I’d say dingos would fit

# cold sequoia yeah nah

Not here, but a surprising number of people actually did want them. One of the mods suggested they'd be better on a Papua New Guinea map and I fully agree.

That said, emu, dingos, and camels would be amazing to see on EC

True for where EC is placed but that's another animal that typically travels alone and is fairly small.

Camels could move in groups of 3-5 and offer something larger than the other animals in that section of the map

I’d like to see feral donkeys over brumbies personally cause they could use stuff from a donkey model to make zebra. Also scrub bulls would be very cool but they are pretty similar to banteng

I saw some people earlier saying australia is the only place with wild dromedaries. Now the modern dromedary is completely descendant from domesticated individuals. Thus the wild camels in australia are feral. Now feral dromedary camels are also present within both Asia, Africa and I believe a small area of North America. So if feral camels in australia are considered wild so to should the other populations. TLDR wild dromedaries are found outside australia as well they just aren’t as prevelant
