Nilgai and Gemsbok are extremely tough, and around the same size. A nilgai cna also take a double-lung from a .50 BMG and run a while.

Not to mention nilgai also have a heavier max weight than black bear, a class 7 animal. Nilgai being class 7 just makes sense

Well, to be entirely fair, .50BMG is meant to penetrate, not efficiently transfer its energy.
