I think in the next few years we might get another European map and since Val-des-Bois is in theHunter: classic I have a feeling it might be this map and Alpine Ibex is a requested species for the game.

Meet the typical huntable animals in this area and climb the mountains to find the majestic Alpine Ibex. You will hear the calls from the Golden Eagle or Alpine Chough, and enjoy the authentic flora including the elusive Edelweiss. Watch your step while climbing and even walking along steep drops, as you might fall off cliffs and require a First Aid Kit to recover. This reserve comes with breathtaking views and unconquerable peaks for you to master. (Yes I stole it from theHunter:classic very original of me)

Potential returning species:
Rock Ptarmigan (1)
Western Capercaillie (1)
Black grouse (1)
Mountain hare (1)
Hazel grouse (1)
European rabbit (1)
Mallard (1)
Red fox (2)
Roe deer (3)
Boreal lynx (3) (Low population)
Alpine chamois (3)
Fallow deer (4)
Wild boar (5)
Red deer (6)
Brown bear (8)*

Potential new species:
Common quail (1)
Grey partridge (1)
Eurasian woodcock (1)
Northern pintail (1)
Common pochard (1)
Alpine marmot (1)
European badger (2)
European mouflon (4)
Alpine Ibex (4)
Apennine wolf (5)

New equipment:
MAS-36 rifle, 3-7, 7.5×54mm soft points and poly tips
Pheasant callers
Grouse and ptarmigan decoys (Capercaillies included)
Decoys and callers for waterfowl
European countryside themed outfits

I’d love to see a Val des Bois remake.

This would be a gorgeous map though I do think mountain climbing should be improved

Hello @velvet fjord,

Thank you for sharing your detailed ideas for a potential European map like Val-des-Bois! It’s great to hear your enthusiasm for the region and its unique species, like the Alpine Ibex and the mix of small game, deer, and predators. Your suggestions for new equipment, like the MAS-36 rifle and various decoys, also add an interesting layer to the hunting experience.

I’ll make sure to pass this along to the rest of the team, and if you have any more thoughts or feedback, feel free to reach out through our support page: https://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

Cool idea

there is a little thing that disturbs me is the fact of having put the brown bear in the French Alps. the problem is that in France, the bear is only located in the Pyrenees which are Slovenian bears, there remains only one male from the Pyrenees. Otherwise it's fine, the species are present in these regions.

velvet fjord

#

ok, if Val-de-Bois locates it then I accept, it's true that we can have brown bears because there really are some in the Alps but towards France there are more the Italian or Swiss population passing through from time to time.

#

ok, so it's a bit like what they did with the small kudu in Vhuronga instead of the big one. But if the goal is to take the same species as the old map then there is no need to worry

or the end of the French Alps. This way you can have the bears in a more natural way. as you want.

#

if you want in France we have the Boreal lynx and the Carpathian linx the boreal lynx is almost everywhere the Carpathian lynx more to the northwest of the map because it is more towards the Jura which is further north of the Alps but not too much of a connection either.on the left that of the Carpathians and on the right that of the boreal.

delicate quarry
#

ok it was just for information purposes. otherwise the boreal linx you put it on the new potential species but it is the same animal that we find in medved-taiga or in Revontuli Coast

#

Otherwise in chamois, there is the Chartreuse chamois which was previously a subspecies of the Alpine chamois before becoming in fact the same species, therefore the Alpine chamois. They have a physical difference in that they are larger, fatter and have a darker coat than other chamois species and are one of only 2 chamois species to be of minor concern due to the fact that they live only on the Chartreuse massif which is even the smallest of pre-Alpine massifs. If you want I can provide you with photos of this massif, since it is part of the Alps you will have an idea of what it looks like. But since the Chartreuse chamois is also the Alpine chamois but bigger and bigger, it can be interesting to have them at the same time. Afterwards if the goal is to put only the species on Val-de-bois and not add 1 or 2 new creatures I would understand, as said above, it is just for information purposes.

points of interest, but if you don't arrive if you want some clue: a Roman road, old temples and probably abandoned villages up high.

delicate quarry
#

Here is all the Roman road in French like that you have the idea

#

and around there are temples, an ancient village from the Middle Ages. In short, you are in a country where archeology and paleontology like history and culture but also hunting is one of the most important things.

This is the dream. VDB is one of my favorite maps from Classic, so to have it in COTW is perfect

#

I had a similar idea for a European Alps reserve, though set in the Eastern Alps rather than bringing back Val from Classic. Was definitely my favourite reserve in Classic though so would love to see a larger version in CotW.

#

I would really love for a completely vertically designed map that focuses almost strictly on alpine hunting. I was hoping Sundarpatan would be a lot more mountainous seeing as it was set in the Himalayas but the environments were much more evenly split and the mountains really didn't feel all that rugged. Val-des-Bois could be the perfect map to make up for this however.

#

These old trail maps show exactly what I would love to see from a more modern Val-des-Bois reserve. Vertically designed, challenging terrain and much higher mountains would be fantastic.
