#animals run after being shot

I've wanted this forever, it shouldn't be a gamemode, just something in the game
It feels like every hunting game makes bows stupid op, even the more realistic games. Animals don't just crumble after you hit them in the lungs, they bolt. Just like moose, they don't have to run far, but it kills the immersion when an animal just faceplants after being shot with an arrow

Moose and elk tend to take some steps or a small trot. Or just stand there. Personally all the deer i’ve got heart shots on irl have dropped on the spot with the exception of one. Maybe make it a random chance to run or drop? Making it random adds variety and in my opinion more realistic. What do you guys think
Was that with a rifle or bow
The one i had run was with a .45 flintlock. Part of the reason i think it should be random is because ive dropped deer with heart shots so far with .243, .30-06, 12ga #4 buck, 410 slug, and a recurve bow. All the others ive hit have been lung shots minus the one neck shot ive taken. That one took a step and crumbled up too. Being with other people when they hunt ive seen deer hit in the heart with other calibers, some large and some small and it seems to be dependent on the deer not so much whats used on it
Even running like 5 yards would be better in the game because I would look more realistic than just dropping like they do rn
I would agree with that. Especially if they are already moving. Even at slow trots or walking they tend to keep moving even though its basically lights out. But from standing still some do walk a bit before they expire. On the flip side of that ive seen one black bear have its heart literally blown out with a .444 marlin and then we had to track the blood trail for about 1/4 to half a mile. Hard to judge distance but it was as straight a line as you can get thru trees with no elevation change. We guessed somewhere between there though. But that would be frustrating to have happen in a game
And having the arrows go through and stick in the ground
Maybe with the higher poundage bows sure. Or just compounds due to the speed? I’ll leave that up to you guys. I mostly hunt with firearms irl. When i bow hunt its a recurve but i dont use it as often as i did before. But it would definitely make those illuminated flashing nocked arrows worth it in the game store. At least if you dont use the Labrador retriever to get your arrows
I would make the illuminated knocks a lot cooler seeing it stick in the ground after shooting a nice buck
They also need non typical antlers especially for whitetail
For sure. And if you can look at the arrow and see based on color of blood as a general indicator of where you hit? I know its not needed since you can just look at the splatter though. And yes i agree on the nontypicals
I think another type of crossbow could be interesting. Maybe an old style. Not a compound? Or those cheap pistol style ones as a quiet small game option? Bolts are very light, i could see it happening. Only got a single rabbit irl with one but at least i know it works. I personally dont like them. But im trying to think of what roles different things can fill for the game
Yeah
Look at the deer this dude got
I'm getting ready for hunting, still sighting in my bow though
What distance?
