#why do i always get disconnected from multiplayer and how do i fix it

I’m in the same boat
bump
Since it doesn't say you were kicked, I would say that this is a desync issue.
MP is peer-to-peer connection so it boils down to your connection and the end-point connection merging.
If your or their internet has a few flutters it may not connect properly even if you have great internet.
The hosts hardware/bandwidth may not be optimal and they might not know it.
The incorrect connection/ bandwidth/hardware support can cause desync which causes a lost connection.
When you search for games, try to search for near or mid range ones. Not far, or worldwide.
yeah I’ve tried near range and it does the same
when I first bought the game in late 2023 I never had the issue, and then I quit for a few months and couldn’t play multiplayer anymore because of that problem, some servers let me play longer than others; but none let me stay connected for over 5 minutes
They just push the issue off onto their customers and will never take accountability and actually fix it
I would say then, if your internet and pc parts are stable/ up to date then it's probably the other guys setup
🤷♂️
Someone was telling me something about the epic / steam cross play had the server locations inaccurate which could lead to some issues like that, even when I set it to near/ mid I always get into foreign servers
Me and my 3 buddies, all in the same city, are on Xbox series x and we all have the best internet we can possibly get, all wired connections with open nat. We can’t even play 5 minutes in each other’s servers without losing connection. And they still try to tell me it’s ’the other guy’s setup’
Hi,
Exactly the same problem than you with my friends on Xbox.
No problem last year/months
the game is now unplayable.
I have buy all DLC, I am very disapointed.
And we have all the fiber connexion, with Open NAT and all is good on all others games
As a follow-up question - have you all filled out tickets to the online ticket portal? https://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
If you have not, please do - and include any video evidence you can get of the connection failure.
Ok so one thing that is super common if for your ISP to have their own restrictions on your NAT type which is hidden and may be different to what you see when you test it. Also one thing that may cause issues is depending on if you have a static or dynamic ip. Australia found this out the hard way as the whole NBN (national broadband network) uses a dynamic ip and well everyone has no option but to use the NBN as that’s out internet lol
