#Individual weapon rework

Basically, the base game guns are totally outdated - aside from the Ranger .243- so I was thinking. Some of them are so obsolete that even dedicated players will ignore them.

Some designs don't even make sense / 7mm Regent-Empress having a fence posst instead of actual sights/ and .270 Stradivarious literally engraved with roe deer but not rated for class 3.

So, my idea is to take a single weapon each update. Totally strip it from the game files and rebuild it with the skulls and experience the team has now.

So, let's say we take the Whitlock .30-30. As it stands, this thing is in a bad state. It's a kit bashed mix of parts from several rifles that functions, but doesn't really feel like a rifle. Trust me, I hunt with a .30-30 every year, the one we have is done wrong.

Now, If they wanted to reuse the model it could be a decent .45 Colt if a little weird.

For a .30-30, a tube magazine usually holds 5 or 6 rounds depending on the barrel length. The iron sights are close but not true buckhorn sights, like you'd find on the original ones. They also had straight grips instead of pistol grips (curved ones)

The ammo leaves a lot to be desired too, the ridiculous range restrictions are especially annoying since the two single shot pistols have better range than the two lever action rifles. I'll go ahead and say yes, I know the .30-30 was originally an alternative to the .243, it does not need to be now.

New bullet designs, new propellants and a better understanding of materials have made massive differences in te performance of this 100+year old cartridge.

A new design and new ammunition should make it at the least competitive with the Solohkin 7.62x54r and covering 3-7 with a range of 200m.

Hello Huxley Hound,

You raise great points about the older weapons, particularly the .30-30. Updating firearms like the Whitlock to reflect modern designs, accurate features, and improved performance would enhance their appeal and competitiveness. Your idea of rebuilding one weapon per update is a solid approach that could refresh the arsenal without overwhelming the process.

Thanks for sharing your insights! We appreciate input from experienced players like you. If you have more suggestions, feel free to submit them here: https://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

# tough turtle Sorry, they do seem a little robotic tho. Also, the .30-30 is a bigger problem ...

Yes! We definitely need something like this. Some of the base games weapons are outclassed by others when each weapon should be given an opportunity to shine.
