I feel like this is something that is talked about fairly often, but the Jackals are…aged to say the least. Their model is severely outdated. They’re one of the most challenging animals to hunt in the entire game, and they look kinda goofy. It’s just not really rewarding to hunt them when they just look like goobers.
The biggest problems:
They are basically permanently cross-eyed
Their fur textures are very dated
Their faces are too fat
Their muzzles are slightly too long

The albinos could use a bit of a touch up. The irl jackal is actually a Leucistic Black-Backed Jackal, but the Albino Side-Striped needs to be that bright white color.

The post on Instagram that I borrowed this pic from said this is a Pseudo-Melanistic Golden Jackal, but maybe something like this could be a fur type on Side-Striped Jackals if they get a rework.
