Stopped playing after 7 years of playing. Keep adding maps and guns just to shoot the same variables of animals. I get you have great ones, but after 7 years with no introduction of non typicals, the game is repetitive and quite frankly boring.

I create challenges for my husband & I in those manners anyway.
Like so many Turkeys for Thanksgiving. So many reindeers for Christmas. Biggest one wins.

But I would love to have a community wide one where we could compete for something. Something like SWTOR or WoW would do for holidays only hunting themed. If that makes sense.

But also I love holiday themed cosmetics. So special ones of that.

Seasonal events that would unlock gear and possibly rare animal furs that would only be available during that time frame (less gimmicky than like zombie animals, werewolf’s, and red nose reindeer but like the skull or scarred tahr fur) keep the game as far away from Fortnite as possible

It would be interesting if in challenges in multi-player you could hold competitions that payout in game currency, where each competitior has a time limit to the highest score on a specific animal. Each person has an entry fee that pays out to the winner

Making fairly normal things extra available on one day wouldn't make that much sense. It would be better to have Event fur types and maybe even Event racks. That way, rarities wouldn't be changed and Super Rares wouldn't be as common as regular diamonds

Also how often the events could happen is another point of this discussion. Right now we were pretty inconsistent with the cosmetics events. We even ran 2 of them at the same time once which was far from optimal.

Nah they're alright. Some are flashy but not over the top. I prefer camo, wood and natural patterns but the flashy ones are something different which can be nice. Can't speak for everyone of course.

Back to original question, hunting related celebrations/dates seem preferable. Again my opinion, but the rut season idea is quite popular

for Halloween costumes, I think it'd be best to keep them in the lodge and being able to turn a trophy into a Halloween variant, like a kangaroo to a "Boxing 'Roo". That way, you could keep the Halloween variant and have any of your previous trophies don a costume. It'd obviously be undoable and could have some combinations, like a kangaroo uppercutting a saltwater crocodile.

An April Fools event where a helicopter with a mounted machine gun appears, and is interactable. When interacted with, it would show a tutorial for how to use it, but once the tutorial is over it does something silly, like fling you up in the air, teleport you to some random location, or even remove everything from your item-wheel thingy (just not from your inventory). It could even send you somewhere cool, if not useful, like an inaccessible island in the middle of a lake.

• Thanksgiving - MASSIVE Turkey hunt. Increased spawn, size, and trophy rating. Bonus mode to only use recurve bows and black powder guns for a pioneer experience. Reward challenges/achievements with pilgrim or pioneer clothing?

If mythical animals can't yet happen, other things can more easily be integrated:
-Spooky sky (orange color palette, green maybe; think "Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare" for more inspiration)
-Costumes/outfits (Jason Vorhees, Michael Myers, Witch robes, etc)
-Camos (pumpkins, candy, ghosts, etc)
-Wolf dog model?
-Animal changes (red eyes, different noises, scarier noises or howls)
-Environmental changes (jack-o-lanterns, bats, maybe a witch on broomstick, different moon [think Bloodborne or something], etc)

I personally don't care for horror things so I'm not fond of Halloween, but other times of the year would be fun especially April Fools like the Classic Roebit. But if you could set up competitions/challenges similar to theAngler on a daily, weekly, monthly basis (in other words improving on hunt club) and add more user created challenge options. Or even similar to their recent 2 year celebration. Have a BBQ where you hunt certain animals for tokens which can be used to purchase unique items in game (special skins for weapons, items, character customization, new gear, etc). But other non hunting ideas could be ATV races, or adding in random collectable finds similar to Classic's mushrooms, feathers, coins, antlers (this could be added on a permanent basis to avoid patching and unpatching downloads).

I was thinking of group races with dedicated challenging tracks/courses that could trick and trip you up while racing to determine winners, because the ATVs themselves all have the same acceleration and top speed. (Imagine racing on Hirschfeldon on the roads but they add in barricades to dodge around, or fallen trees to drive over). Unless the devs added in variable mechanics where you purchase parts to tweak your ride. But I like the idea of rewards for it too.

I watched a streamer try to put on side-by-side multiplayer races, but the trails aren't wide enough in most places, so they wrecked out. He changed it to single-races against the clock, which sort of worked, but without a way to mark trails, they easily lost which way to go. EW could mark up a dedicated Race Course the way Rifle Ranges are now.

Just thought also that EW has access to stats. They give those yearly/anniversary breakdowns on number of kills, distance traveled, etc. And they have incorporated into the game the overlay for things like QR codes for doing surveys, or announcing new DLCs. Why not combine those things together and create a leaderboard of some sort to show who the top 10 players for an animal of a category are, or the most kills, or the smallest harvest, it could get creative. It'd reset every week, month, quarter, or year depending on what is tracked. It's a way to do something similar as Classic since the game engine is limited to Peer-to-peer play instead of using dedicated servers and true competitions can't be created. But if the stats they track allow for that it'd be interesting. Obviously the problem with that is ensure consistent and fair results. Modded games or other forms of manipulation shouldn't be considered. I wonder if you'd have to opt in or use an Apex account and be vetted before you could be listed. But it's a thought to brainstorm on.

Its pretty safe to say that everyone is on the same page with seasonal holiday events as a whole. I think that all celebrated holidays should have events...Valentines Day, St. Patty's Day, Easter, Canada/Independence day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah/Christmas and New Year.
I think we should get seasonal and event specific Diamonds or Great One animals to hunt. I also think these events should have special rewards per tier in hunt club challenges pertaining to them. Tier 1 could be weapon & equipment skins. Tier 2 could be player character outfits and last tier could be holiday versions of lodges.

It would be a huge bonus for new players because they wouldn't have bird shot unlocked for the 12ga when they started out but they'd be seeing rabbits anyway. Also, just because of how the game works they had to download the ammo types even if they didn't buy them

Kinda a good idea except it would make more sense for new england to get the wendigo seeing as the wendigo is of Algonquin folklore and NEM is the closest geographical location

Some summer event, where we can hunt crabs on the beach(palms and everything maybe a small map would be cool) with slingshots etc. Or harpoon some fish (no net or hook so its not fishing) in knee deep water.

I always like Hunter Classic's themed event with werewolves for Halloween, and red nose reindeer for Christmas. Maybe Bigfoot for April Fools on Layton Lakes? maybe have free taxedemy for the event animals?

having a supernatural creature hunt and a themed outfit/weapon with a trophy lodge specifically for it would be awesome. like having a werewolf/wendigo multimount where theyre killing a bighorn or something. krampus for christmas. or an american bison hunt with the reward for 50-100 full harvest kills being a sharps 1874 rifle in 50-90.

*obligatory reminder that the Wendigo isn't a huge deer-headed monster, in actual indigenous folklore it's a tall, emaciated humanoid with long limbs, sunken eyes, and missing lips/exposed teeth

they aren't these huge cryptid monsters, they're spiritual entities from various cultures that are basically people who turned to cannibalism out of desperation. They're essentially representing gluttony/greed iirc

And there’s also hella variation in their size. Some stories say they’re giants, others say they’re human sized but simply ravenous for human flesh. Either way, it would make for an interesting event so long as they’re true to the myth.

Since a few maps have hinted at Bigfoot. I do think having event where you can see Bigfoot wondering in the woods & then disappear would be so cool ! You could even try take picture of he/she. Could be during Halloween or random summer event. Just a thought.

Some of those community challenges the game hints at for the new year could be amazing weapons. Rifles in a different style but the same calibers we already have would be great. Like a semi-auto 270 or a lever action. 30-06

Even just entirely new models of the guns we do have like a long barreled .45-70 lever action or a new .30-30
