I’m a big duck hunter IRL and I think there is a lot of us that play that are as well and I know I’ve seen it asked earlier on in discussions but will there ever be more ducks added to the game as well as a duck specific map like Arkansas or Missouri I think you guys have done a great job with the big game and maps but the ducks and geese seem kinda just thrown in the game with no more support
#More ducks and new duck hunting maps

No more support? You have entire dlc dedicated to bird hunting blinds
As well as decoys
There is only 5-6 species of birds and that’s been the same amount of birds for awhile now meanwhile we have almost every big game animal in the world like we got Mississippi and that map hardly produces and birds it’s just small things I notice as a IRL bird hunter they did do a good job with Revontuli Coast but would it be too much to ask for a new map mainly for birds and small game and too add more duck species
I get that you shoot birds in real life, as do i. However Hate to break it to you but the majority of the player-base are here to shoot big game and not birds
Well that’s why it’s feedback they can do whatever they want with my opinion and like I said Ik it’s been brought up more than once in conversations just beating a dead horse in hopes they do something with it
I'm up for this honestly. I'm mainly interested in mid to large size game but I tried some duck and goose hunting and I found it pretty fun, but there's not much variety on anywhere but Rev and there's some good variety on NEM too. But Mississippi in particular is perfect for more ducks that we just don't have on there
I think that every map (except maybe those in Africa) need some kind of waterfowl implemented into them. Most of the North American Maps are set in prime waterfowl territory (especially Mississippi Acres, where there should’ve been plenty of waterfowl to begin with) and they should have popular Duck and goose species like Wood Ducks, Gadwall, Pintail, American Wigeon, Blue-Winged Teal, American Coot, Specklebelly Goose, Snow Goose, and Ross’s Goose.
Medved is not really set up for waterfowl either with it being set in winter. Had it been set in the autumn or summer then goose species like Brant, Tundra Bean and Red-breasted Goose and ducks like Tufted Duck, Eurasian Wigeon, Common Scoter and Eurasian Teal could all work.
True, Medved wouldn’t work too well, but it could work with upland birds like Willow Ptarmigan
That is true. While the addition of a duck species to Vurhonga wasn't well recieved mostly because of how noisy the map became (And partially because it wasn't native to Southern Africa), I still think an African map having at least one waterfowl species wouldn't hurt
I think that Egyptian Goose would work well in the southern swamps of Dzonga and along the river, and perhaps Spur-Winged Goose as well.
Replace Eurasian Widgeon with them
I think the Cape Teal (aka Cape Wigeon) or the Yellow-billed Duck (A relative of the Mallard) would work just as well
I'd rather have a dedicated Upland Bird & Small game gated reserve with a Pointer over more Waterfowl.
They already have quite a few upland birds but I get what you mean I’m a bird guy in general ever since I shot my first duck years ago I’ve been in love with any type of bird hunting and I’m sure there are hundreds of us that play this game that feel the same way
They have maybe 3 US upland birds what I suggested in my thread would tie up our US Upland Birds and our Small Game list. After we get this w/ apointer as well as the top 3 voted locations: Africa 2, South America, & Northern Canada I would have no issue with filler locations. US is well known for its Big Game, Upland Bird/Small Game, Waterfowl, & Fur Bearer Small Game.
Dont get me wrong our waterfowl isn't complete either bc we dont have cranes and a few others so I get your view as well. Waterfowl hunters have RC with a lab already its only fair we get an Upland US Reserve with a pointer in kind.
Personally I’d prefer if they just added upland game to existing maps rather than spend a year making a whole new reserve in the US based solely on upland game.
it would be ideal however in order to add new game to existing reserves they have to be introduced in a new location. That is the pattern esp. with backfills. I'm taking a page from Jaxy on a gated reserve concept to pool them together and the game I listed also thrive in that locations climate. Its not uncommon to have a bird reserve populated with game outside of domestic species. Texas and Midwest States are proof of that.
Besides Wyoming, Dakotas, Utah, & Nebraska are all examples having wildlife programs breeding and releasing US game birds to the wild through out the country esp. Wyoming.
Arkansas and Missouri are big breeding ground and banding for waterfowl
