Errors in the Spanish translation of animal names

The original terms (other than the muntjac) seem to be Continental Spanish (vs. Latin American Spanish, and specifically Mexican) as far as I can tell, but I am not a native speaker. "Wapiti de las Montañas Rocosas" seems to be quite uncommon as Google only had 1 page, whereas "Alce de las Montañas Rocosas" has 4.

I am from the peninsula, not Latin America, and the names are those, but it is true that the name of the Rocky Mountains Elk is debatable which of the two they could be.

But to go back to your original message, you claimed these are "bad translations" and you provided "correct translations". My point is that both are correct. (Again, with muntjac as clearly wrong.)

The ones that are clearly wrong are the bighorn sheep and the muntjac.
