There have been other threads on this, but they don't seem to have had any traction.
No one uses the backpacks because of the penalties to noise and visibility. But in real life, all hunters will use a backpack to some degree, so it's not very realistic how it works in game.

My suggestion would be to remove the noise and visibility penalties. Instead add a movement penalty tied to the weight being carried. For example, if you're carrying over 25 you cannot sprint.
The pack mule perk wouldn't be affected, as it should raise the base stat that weight penalties start from.

I agree and disagree. I love the concept to the effect on movement 100% however, in terms of noise it is realistic you brush up on more vegetation then without it. Sight is a 50/50 to me because camo isn't applied in-game as it should be. If they applied camo detection, I'd be more inclined to support the pros/cons of sight esp. If we are offered a blank outfit to use our cosmetic camo's on along with our backpacks with a camo detection rating for ea. reserve, I'd be thrilled. But the noise is excessive in terms of detection and that should get adjusted.

I agree. I personally use the large backpacks in game and can still get to within 10 yards of most large game. Just taking it slow and watching the wind and noise levels. I like carrying a lot of types of guns personally. But also if you’re in a stand iron blind it doesnt matter

Let us shoot off of our backpacks while in the prone position!

What i think should happen:
mini daypacks should make it so ammo doesnt use storage, and doesnt have any penaltys.
maybe this can be obtained by a quest
