#The Trophy Rating System Needs A Rework

Before I pitch my suggestions I want to make it very clear that I absolutely love this game and want what’s best for the community. I’ve spent hundreds of hours playing and I can easily see myself putting in over a thousand hours if not more.

That being said I realize how insanely frustrating it is to get a rating ruined because of the most bs reasons. I understand and respect that ethics is a core element of the game and I definitely can see what the developers were going for when they implemented the system where you must meet all criteria (correct ammo, 2 shots or less, vital organ hit, and avoiding trophy a trophy organ).

A trophy rating is completely objective. It has everything to do with the animal’s weight, appearance, rarity, trophy organs and nothing to do with anything subjective such as how ethically the animal was killed. It makes perfect sense to keep the trophy organs in tact but otherwise I don’t see why people should get their Diamonds, Golds, and Great Ones lessened in value just because other irrelevant criteria was not met. I can also see how you can make a case why ammo should matter and that’s fine but otherwise I don’t see why the other criteria make sense.

I do believe that players should be penalized if they do not meet the criteria for an ideal kill by getting little to no money or xp but otherwise it just doesn’t seem to add much to the game by ruining a trophy rating.

Bruh it’s super easy to get every check, the lung takes up the whole front body for every animal

Wow bruh thanks for the expert advice do you think after hundreds of hours of playing I didn’t realize that? There have been so many times I was certain I got a lung shot only to see it hit a random spot and it gets way more fickle after 300 yards even if the scope is properly zero’d. I regularly get accurate shots so that’s besides the point you overlooked the whole premise of my post in the fact that the trophy rating system is flawed because an animal is rated based on it’s physicality and not based on where it’s shot. But feel free to drop more wisdom on me, bruh I’m sure you have so much more intelligent responses

i agree with the organs part, because you can hit a non vital organ and the animal would still drop after running what would be considered an ethical distance irl.

But it's important that you CAN mess sth up, that's the challenge. It would be boring otherwise and not get your heart pounding with a big trophy knowing there's nothing to mess up yk?

Exactly right. The spine should also be considered a vital as it instantly drops an animal yet doing so causes you to lose a trophy rating. That’s exactly the type of rework I’m talking about where it’s more fair and makes sense. Why should level 1 animals abide by different rules? You can shoot them in the foot and still get a diamond rating so it’s a bit strange. Also, yes you’re absolutely right even non vitals should still kill them rather quickly unless it’s the stomach.
