Ever since MedVed released almost six years ago now (God that makes me feel old), I always felt that Grankin's shotgun was seriously out of place.
I mean, how is an old man living in rural Northern Siberia going to get his hands on an American style O/U shotgun? It doesn't match the character or location of the reserve given that it's a definitively American design sitting in Siberia. Moreover, it's not a very unique mission reward, especially when prepared to interesting skins like the 6.5MM "Rayo" on Cuatro Colinas or the "Championship" .338 on Parque Fernando or map-specific weapons like the Gandhare Rifle on Sundarpatan.
The visual model was/is far too corroded (even for an old beaten up hermit's gun) and a bit of an eye sore because of that.
So, I think a new shotgun should replace the rusty old O/U that has sat unchanged for that past five plus years.
The MTs255 is a Russian-made double-action revolver shotgun that was first introduced in both law enforcement and civilian models in 1993. As a Russian-made firearm it would fit the environment of MedVed much better than the overtly Amero-European design that we currently have in game. Moreover, it could also benefit from a weathered (but not destroyed) skin comparable to the Gandhare Rifle. Some marring on the stock with the loss of bluing around the muzzle and cylinder hinger would be a great way to show its age while not looking too corroded to be safely used.
It would also provide more variety to the game and fill the void left by the current absence of a revolver shotgun.
Footnotes:
-It is also made in 20, 28, and 32 GA as well as .410 bore, which opens the door to multiple variants in different chamberings.
-I am specifically advocating for the inclusion of the wooden-stocked civilian version intended for hunting and sport shooting, but have also included images of the law enforcement variant, the MTs255-12, for reference
