#European vs New Zealand vs Argentinian red deer

I love red deer, they are absolutely majestic and you can't argue they aren't one of the most majestic deer species in the world.
But there is something I dislike very much about them in game, they get unrealistically big, specifically in Hirschfelden and Cuatro Colinas and even in Parque Fernando too.
Te Awaroa and Emerald Coast are fine since the Red Deer in New Zealand and Australia do get absolutely massive and it's very common for them to do so, but in Europe it just isn't, it makes no sense to have these massive New Zealand type red deer roaming Germany and Spain where they realistically shouldn't be bigger than the level 6's and 7's.
As for Parque Fernando, red deer there do get bigger than in Europe, but not as big as New Zealand and Australia.

My proposal is to do a full red deer revamp.
Divide red deer into groups

European red deer (Cuatro Colinas and Hirschfelden)
-level 7= diamond potential
-level 6= guaranteed gold (small chance of an underleveled diamond)
-level= 5 gold or silver
-level= 4 guaranteed silver
-level= 1-3 bronze
-cap off the max trophy rating at 200
-diamond minimum: 180

Argentinian red deer (Parque Fernando)
-level 8= diamond potential
-level 7= guaranteed gold (small chance of an underleveled diamond)
-level 6= gold or silver
-level 5= guaranteed silver
-level 4= silver or bronze
-level 1-3= bronze
-cap off the max trophy rating at 225
-diamond minimum: 200

New Zealand red deer (Te awaroa and Emerald Coast)
-unchanged

typical big new zealand red deer trophy

the difference between argentinian and european red deer is mostly just argentinian red deer having a couple extra sets of tines and more mass, while the new zealand's red deer of course look absolutely crazy and full of typical and nontypical tines and huge amounts of mass

#

alongside this rework would be nice to have their great ones reworked and possibly give each of them their own great ones

They could further split the European Red Deer into the 2 subspecies that would be present in the European Reserves: The Central European Red Deer is the one that would be present in Germany while the Iberian would be the ones on Cuatro

Are you talking about the size of the animal or the size of the rack? I would be happy to see more truracs variations for red deer in general ....

a diamond european red deer would be like a big level 6, small 7 rack shape but with much more mass

#

I thought of proposing for them to max at level 6 but I feel like 7's should still be kept as there are still some massive stags in europe

I don't think this is a good idea. Reds in NZ for example can get big but it certainly isn't common. A lvl 7 ingame is pretty rare in the wild in NZ. The really big ones are farmed for tourists to shoot on the farm or in a paddock. And it's a game, keep it consistent across reserves

everyone knows they have descendes from european red deer, every red deer in every part of the world has, but the antler size differences is real, european red deer don't grow nearly as much as New Zealand, one factor of course is New Zealand red deer having zero natural predators, so they tend to live longer, even Way of the Hunter has implemented this difference into their game, which is a big step in realism which makes COTW's red deer not as well made and designed

And such big animals ingame are still unrealistic by NZ deer standards. Better dev time is spent elsewhere

I do agree that, in general, the red deer antlers look weirdly mangled on a lot of them

this is the average rack size of a european red deer, love seeing it in the game
