I don’t know if it’s the same issue, but some people were having problems when the Xbox servers were acting up the other day
How was that fixed if you know?

I'm very sorry to hear you lost your progress. I know this can be disheartening.
Please note that your in-game progress is only saved locally on your console and in the Xbox cloud if you are connected to the Xbox network. Due to this, we can only recommend connecting your console to the Xbox network or disconnecting and reconnecting it as an attempt to sync your data from the cloud if it has not yet been overwritten.
It's also important to note that in-game data is separate for each Xbox profile. If you have multiple profiles, make sure you are signed in to the one you played on previously.
If these solutions don't work for you, then unfortunately, it is not possible to restore your progress. I hope that you can continue to enjoy your hunts despite this happening.

Same happen
to me, four times in the last four days, is not a problem with xbox cloud, don´t have any issues with other games

Once Xbox servers were fixed I had no problem. Been fine ever since. And if it’s not a server issue you have a hardware issue. I don’t think it’s an issue with the game itself.
Still happening to me. After 1hr aprox of playing, the game stop saving data. I don´t undertand how can´t be a game issue if every other game is working fine.
