Respawns are not broken but we need a quality of life update! In this post we will talk about the different grinds and the effects of respawns have on them. Lets get into it!

[Lets keep an open mind while reading threw this information and see each others side of this topic!]

The Quality of life update where talking about is the time to respawn! After talking with a lot of different Hunters changing the respawn timer from 5-30mins to 5-10mins or even 5-15mins would be a big quality of life update to the game. The reason for the selection of this time frame is based off the time to rotate on a fully Heard Manage white tail Grind! White tail is the fastest rotating animal in the game. When the HM is fully set up your only rotating on 8 to 10 zones, with an irl time of 8 to 9mins to rotate threw! This time I did not pull out of thin air, all you need to do is time iBUYpremiums, StayBlizzy024, Dslopes5, Tank44, and so on. Some of these Streamers have tried to add more zones to their rotation but this how ever is not making up for the lack of respawns in an extended period of time. These are all daily streamers on twitch. My information could be a bit bias based on twitch streamers and no YouTube streamers. Sorry YouTube streamers I just never think about YouTube as a Streaming platform.
The respawn time of 5 - 30mins is based off an experiment I performed right after the update! I used moose as the animal to watch for respawn times, these are the standards for the experiment.

I shot one moose in the same zone from a tripod.

  1. I set the time to 14:00 middle of the drink time and would reset to 14:00 after harvesting the moose!
  2. to make sure it was not the animal scared off I would exit to main menu and come back in to reset the fear level of the animals in the herd to pull them back into zone.
  3. The moose I shot was in the most consistent zone i have on the map, its a herd of 3 with 1 female, 1 lvl2 male, and 1 shooter male.
  4. Timer was a stop watch from the time of harvest. [We all know if you don't harvest an animal it will not respawn]
  5. This experiment was done on PC Game {Ver: 2806253} Network Version" 47 I 0.1.10 I

Experiment 1: The first moose I shot was a vital organ shot in the heart. The timer was started at the same time I harvested. I exited to main menu, and came back in changing the time back to 14:00 saw both the female and the lvl2 male come back into zone. I watched the zone for 7mins 55seconds

Experiment 2: The second moose I shot was a vital organ shot in the lungs. The timer was started at the same time I harvested the animal. I exited to main menu, and came back in changing the time back to 14:00 saw both the female and the lvl2 male come back into zone. I watched the zone for 5mins 32seconds!

Experiment 3: The third moose I shot was a vital organ shot in the heart. The timer was started at the same time I harvested. I exited to main menu, and came back in changing the time back to 14:00 saw both the female and the lvl2 male come back into zone. I watched the zone for 22mins 13seconds!

Experiment 4: The first moose I shot was a vital organ shot in the lungs. The timer was started at the same time I harvested. I exited to main menu, and came back in changing the time back to 14:00 saw both the female and the lvl2 male come back into zone. I watched the zone for 6mins 42seconds!

Experiment 5: The fifth moose I shot was a vital organ shot in the lungs. The timer was started at the same time I harvested. I exited to main menu, and came back in changing the time back to 14:00 saw both the female and the lvl2 male come back into zone. I watched the zone for 26mins 18seconds!

Taking this information from a controlled experiment we can extrapolate the time for other grinds with all animals besides for Tigers having the same respawn timer. This give the hypothesis that respawn timers are 5 - 30mins! Feel free to test this on your own and give feed back. If you think there is a better way to experiment this let me know, always down to test things!

Now White tail, with the average time of 8 to 9 mins lets do another experiment with the information we have from the first test!

Rotation 1 on a HM Grind with 8 main zones lets say your shooting 16 animals per rotation!

Respawn: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th zones have respawns under the 8 to 9 min time. Zone 4 does not have respawn is on a 22min respawn timer!

2nd rotation: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 8th zones have respawns, but now my 8 to 9 min rotation is now shorter because of the first set of respawns! 7 to 8min rotation now!

3rd rotation: 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 8th zone have respawns, but that 7 to 8min is now 5 to 6mins being only 5 zones to rotate on.

4th rotation all zones don't show up because where under 5mins on a rotation so we have to wait! Guess what zone 4 is now only 1min from respawn. 21mins of rotations you have to wait 5 to 10mins for everything from 3rd rotation to respawn!

This is the major up roar about the respawns, White tail after a few rotations just shoots its self to no respawns. Why we would like 5-10min respawn or even 5- 15min respawn!
Other animals are seeing these respawns also just not as seen as white tail, Moose every rotation i am missing 1 or 2 zones. time to rotate on moose is more like 14 - 15mins time to kill on moose is a bit longer their tanks!

Lets work threw this and see what we can come up with!

The tent change was a fix to a bug, I have not went to my tahr grind so can't make remarks on the effect it had. White tail, Moose, fallow and Bob white is the only things I have grinder since the update.

Guys & Gals, I’m sorry, but I think I’m of average intelligence, but DON’T understand this. 😢

Are you taking into account of where the animal is spawning from? All animals are going to have different respawn point and will take a varied amount of time to path into the zone your waiting at.

# austere hatch Are you taking into account of where the animal is spawning from? All animals ar...

The animal will respawn in front of you if you take the correct steps. The only time you would take that into account is if we let the time roll around naturally. If I took that much time then we would not have respawn delays. one hour in game is 15mins IRL so yeah a full day in game would be 6.25hrs IRL. Respawn point is dependent on the time it is when the animal goes to respawn. If I set it to 14:00 and its herd is in zone then the animal will respawn in front of me. The correction for your point was stated in Experiment 1 "The first moose I shot was a vital organ shot in the heart. The timer was started at the same time I harvested. I exited to main menu, and came back in changing the time back to 14:00 saw both the female and the lvl2 male come back into zone. I watched the zone for 7mins 55seconds "

Mojo, thanks for getting back to me, I guess I still don’t understand which animal that you are shooting, and when you start the clock the next time. I’m trying to learn herd management, and how responding is affected by it.

…respawning, not responding…
