This is all due to a conversation I had with @south yacht in his thread #1268620229144219769
As they are right now I'd be surprised anyone uses scents out of mission requirements. This is a bit of a shame because scents can be a very effective hunting aid if done right.

We need a more effective way to use the scents we already have, they currently draw all attention directly to your character and frontal shots are generally a bad choice. Scent wicks, very simple cotton pads, are used to hold the liquid scent like a sponge so that the scent can spread in the wind. They would be a consumable in packs of 5 or 10, you put them in your inventory with the scent you want and apply the scent to the wick the same way you would swap ammo in a weapon. Deploying the wick would be the same as decoys, simply place it down where you want the animal to go.

For this particular idea, we would need a rabbit decoy and a fawn decoy.
Place them down as you would any decoy, place a scent wick with blood scent applied nearby it and use a distress call to make an extremely effective predator hunting set up. Other decoys, perhaps a doe or cow of any deer/antelope species, would work the same but with the standard calls. The E-caller would be exceedingly useful here. -
A small change in the HUD. As it stands , there's only a small shaded dial to represent the length of time a scent is active. It works, but it's not the clearest or most visible part of the HUD. A small timer displaying the time in minutes rather than a dial. This would be even better if there were settings to change the color and brightness of the timer. A secondary timer for the wick would be helpful so scent killer and a lure could be active at the same time.
