After Sundarpatan and its introduction of very limited population numbers for Snow Leopards and Tigers, and especially the introduction do their own home ranges, I think that's something that should be moved on to the Pumas, Mountain Lions, Grey Wolves and Iberian Wolves.
First off, the Pumas and Mountain Lions:
They are generally known for being rare and elusive, hard to hunt and hard to find before it finds you, there is a sense of danger and mystery about them but they really don't carry that over into game. I feel like the Mountain Lions should have a limited population of 20 since they occupy a very similar amount of land as tigers do in Sundarpatan, maybe just a little more hence why I put 20 instead of 16, and Pumas since you can find them almost anywhere on the map, I think they should have a population of around 35 to cover all the land possible, of course not every part of the reserve has to be a home range, some parts can stay uninhabited by them until you maybe get a respawn to move.
Limiting the numbers gives them more subtlelty and elusiveness, makes it more realistic and makes each kill more special, it also makes hunting species that get spooked by Pumas/Mountain Lions, such as Mule Deer, less annoying because they wouldn't constantly get spooked and chased away from their zones before you can even get there.
Secondly, the Grey and Iberian wolves:
I would love to see the same thing as I've just mentioned with the Pumas and Mountain lions, but have home ranges for packs of wolves and maybe 2-5 solo males.
The main reason I want this change for them is because wolves in real life have their respective home ranges they occupy and other packs avoid, so it makes no sense to run into 3 wolf packs drinking at the same lake for example.
About 12-15 different packs around each of the three wolf inhabited maps would seem ideal to me, each pack with around 6-12 wolves + a couple solo wolves as I've mentioned previously.
