I like this new patch because the game has become a fast travel simulator for grinding. Now grinding is still possible but has limits which is normal.

Way of the Hunter allows me to play the game anyway I like without changing mechanics. It also does not have community members throwing a fit about how other community members play the game. As I’ve stated before, how one person plays this game does not affect anyone else, yet folks like you are vehemently against people playing a single player game differently from you, when it has absolutely zero affect on you. Because once again, it’s a single player game.

Because simply changing the time it takes for an animal to respawn does not make the game more realistic or challenging, just more tedious. Seeing OP compared the game to WOTH, in that game you're waiting for your animal to actually grow instead of waiting 20 minutes for the animal to simply respawn.

If COTW had TrueSize and genetics I would instantly be in favor of reducing the tent hopping and respawn skipping. It would still need to be communicated better with the commmunity though, not just shipped through a list of bug fixes

If your life is that boring and uneventful that you care so much about what other people do in the hunter of all things, in their single player worlds , which has no affect on you at all. Then you need to get offline, and rethink your life priorities.

Literally this. If this was some kind of MMO I would see a point but it's a single player. A person grinding their game affects NOTHING of someone else's game. They are not forced to do grinding and can just run and gun. Nothing will change my mind people happy with this update are just envious of people having more trophies than them. Yeah some streamers have 10 G1 but they play 10h a day, that's literally their job. They get paid through streams, of course they'll have more trophies.

I have very few trophies, most of them already came with the map, and zero G1s, I'm not a grinder, I like to run and gun but I hate this update.

I like tracking max weight animals in the map to see if they're diamonds, I would find a max weight track, follow the track to its need zone, place a tent there and try to catch it on its need time. The tent update had made this so much more fun and now it's worse than it was before.

I play WOTH too, if I was feeling more realistic or wanted more challenge I would go there, but I played COTW for the joy it gave me.

Alot of the joy for me in cotw comes from the variety of animals and variety of rare furs not to mention G1s it's just that without grinding it's so hard to experience them which is why I grind and am ultimately upset with these changes

I have every single DLC for this game, even the cosmetics ones. I gifted the game to my husband and to a friend and also gifted three DLC gifts for said friend but this is the first time I'm truly saddened by an update.

its suppose to only effect tigers. jaxy said in stream multiple times. so would just say test it for yourself until the devs say somthing about it.
i see most people say 200m from any testing from what i can tell.

the grind didnt change we will just go back to placing tents at 250m then placing tents right ontop of the herd. which made the change useless. just makes us use way more supplies for the same results which is lame adding even more time for fast travels.
if the new map wasnt so harsh with bush's and trees. making animals go to zones that only have 50m of clearing or most placing not even being able to place tents in a good location. no one would have problems. we would learn to just make runs last 15mins so things can respawn or just hunt tigers and another animal at the same time. giving them lots of time to respawn. doing tigers and tahr at the same time seem like a legit grind. but the fact tahr zones are horrible, eating in trees in areas that you cant place a tent for 400m. and tigers have the same issue with tents. and with clearings only being 50m you spook any diamond the moment you get to the clearing. and some tiger lakes are more like a puddle causing the same issue. if we had a way to force a tent down where ever we wanted and need zones for some animals were alot cleaner then none of us would care. a big issue people dont understand is every person spawns are diffrent. alot of the testers even one of them found a go tahr with the new changes. how do we know he doesnt have crap spawns. i have 6 tahr zones within 100m of a outpost. killing all those zones. they now need changes like if we place a tent down it deletes/moves the herd are needed now as all old maps they knew that and didnt place need zones within spook range of a outpost. but this map was designed for the almost 0 spook distance. there are so many issues i could cover. and again we wouldnt care if things worked smoothly. but now certain animals just now are painful to hunt dependig on your spawns. cause this didnt effect any of my old maps since i didnt move the tents. but now the new map just feels so bad to play. people just want things to go back to the way it was due to its alot easier for the devs to just turn it back. rather then wait months and months for them to "mabye" fix things. geese have been a on going joke for a long time about what happens when they "try" to fix a animal spawn.

I think it depends on how you enjoy this game. Some people play for the Great One, while others play to enjoy the landscape and the wild, treating it like a walking simulator. Let's respect both playstyles and make decisions accordingly. The Great One achievement is definitely a challenge and requires a significant effort, so it should be balanced to be fair for everyone.

I think most grinders desperately want to find G1, even at the expense of maintaining key game mechanics, and are demanding that EW adjust the game to their demands…

People are obsessed with G1 because they have too many diamonds and rare furs. But why? Because they're grinding.
