Personally, a dream of mine for this game has always been the addition of "primitive" weaponry. I'm sure other hunters could like this idea, especially if you've seen a couple of Tim Wells videos.
First, these weapons wouldn't be super practical and would probably have to be a new weapon class or be part of archery and would obviously need new animations while being used. They'd be for a hunter wanting a challenge and to show off some skill expression for those perhaps bored of the bow or looking for a challenge.
My main ideas are an atlatl, a blowgun, and of course, a spear! We could have it similar to the bows, where we have more traditional stuff, and modern stuff with the traditional and compound arrows.
For the atlatl, it'd be a light ish weapon that you could carry with up to 5 darts or arrows with it. There'd be a traditional wooden one, and a carbon express modern version. I've seen videos of people harvesting small hogs up to bison with these, so they could maybe cover classes 3-9 depending on the ammo used.
When it comes to the blowgun, this would be a super unique weapon that I've definitely seen people want added! We could again have traditional and modern versions added, covering classes 1-7 most likely. It'd be a light, quiet weapon that'd be most effective on small game.
For the spear, I'd say they could cover classes 3-9. I've seen people take hogs all the way up to bison with em! You'd probably only be able to carry one spear at a time, or several that cover different class ranges. Upon harvesting an animal with one, you get the spear back. It'd have a super different method of hunting and I and many other hunters would adore it.
For these weapons, I'd say the archery perks would apply just fine onto them as to not overcomplicate things.
