This is a very old rifle design, in fact it was barely redesigned from the original 1886 Winchester. Despite that, this rifle has seen some new life with very recent reproduction and new ammunition designs.

A favorite of Western America, from mule deer to grizzlies, the .348 can handle everything the Rockys can throw at it. Redesigned with a rail forward of the receiver it accepts modern optics like red dot sights or rifle scopes. The tubular magazine allows 4 rounds, just in case the bear decides one isn't enough.

As far as in game goes, it'll have better penetration and higher quick kill than the 7mm, but the limited range of 200 yards means you'll have to close the distance the old fashioned way

A lot of the older lever action .348’s I’ve seen have also had peep sights. 🤠

I wouldn't mind seeing an optional tang mounted peep sight rather than tritium sights for this, it's more in line with traditional hunting
