#Gandhare Rifle Should be Reclassed

I love the gun and its ammunition stats are great for a skill based gun, and certain perks make up for its lack of scope and breachloading. But it really feels like the gun was misclassed when brought into the game. I feel like this happened mainly cuz the .50 caplock is 4-8 which makes sense for its ammo stats but not with this gun. The Gandhare definitely handles class 9s without issue and feels like overkill every time i use it on a class 4.

Id love to hear other people's opinions on this gun and whether it should be reclassed into a 4-9 instead of a 4-8. I'd like to reiterate that the gun and stats are fine as is, its just not properly classed in my opinion.

P.s. its my main hunting rifle in game and ive gotten accustomed to making 350m plus shots with it on multiple different species. So i definitely put the gun through the ringer to have formed this opinion

Community opinion: Nobody likes the way the developers classified the weapon, after all it is a weapon specific to the map that should be made to kill tigers, it has the power to do so and so far it has not been met with a simple modification by the developers. ..they just ignore us as usual.

Did some quick research due to another Gandhare post. The 45-70 is pretty similar in velocity and joules to the gandhare, so it should be a 4-9 since thats what the 45-70 is in game. Also here's 4 screenshots of their effective ranges found online and bullet information according to google for the devs to enjoy as extra proof to fix the gun.

This gun obliterates class 4 and 5 animals. I honestly think it should be 6-9

Id say more so 5-9 if you really wanna make the devs adjust 2 parts of the coding instead of just one part. But from my experience the 45-70 does the same, which i normally use as my herd killer if they spook towards me

simple change to make it 5-9
the fact that it is still 4-8 when it is far stronger than both the available 4-9 weapons in the game is outrageous

I'd personally make it 6-9. It obliterates class 5 animals too

I'd support 5-9 but 6-9 is fine, just as long as it is a class 9 rifles
the fact that it came with a map with the most class 9 animals feels like a slap from the devs
I've killed every class 9 on sundarpatan with it with no issues, double lung yaks etc, yet it is more unethical than shooting a mouflon with it I guess

5-9 makes sense to me. Its uncommon but has been used in the southern united states for wild hogs for handloaders

Fair enoigh. 5-9 would be fine, but I can't imagine it puts anything but a massive crater in something like a sika deer 💀

From my findings its better suited from 5-8 technically because it's not known for penetration on Dangerous Game & was immediately replaced when a better rifle was available due to ppl getting trampled & gored. However in game logic it does fine on T:9.

Also it wasnt replaced because of better weapons. The brits finally delivered a supply of henry short lever actions and a supply of long levers a while after production slowed down due to the complexity of making it in less but still removable pieces and man made inconsistencies affecting the quality

The gun was also originally a military gun that was later used for hunting purposes after the war. It had no issues killing what it was supposed to in their area which includes the big game animals. I would also like to point out that people being gored and trampled in a time period where all guns where breachloading or muzzleloading was a normal occurrence, especially since one of the traditional hunting methods back then was to stand in the way of certain animals while they charged you.
