#2024 Winter update

It's been a few years since scoring 2.0 came out, the game has changed immensely and the gameplay has not kept pace in the slightest. A lot of people are really tired of how things are going, power creep is becoming the only reason to buy dlcs, guns and animals are in the wrong classes entirely, and pretty much everyone I've talked with on the discord think the devs are ignoring them.

One of the biggest complaints I've seen is that while the community here has been asking for a .375 bolt action since Vurhonga came out, it barely made it through the poll because everyone assumes it'll be suppressed or they think it's another .300 magnum.

These are a few things I personally want to see changed in the update.

All the rifles need to be updated to realistic penetration, because with the sole exception of the .243 every other rifle is massive underpowered with no legitimate reason. These guns don't need to be balanced against each other, this is not a PvP game and shouldn't be treated like one.

Second, bullets need to be going much faster than they are. It shouldn't take near as much lead as it does for moving targets and trajectories need to be made more realistic. I don't care how long the barrel is, a .44 magnum should not be reaching 300 yards at all.

Third, the tritium sights need their own attachment slot rather than taking up the one used by the regular scopes. The weapon already has attached iron sights in most cases and do not block the weapon from using a scope.

Fourth, the class system for animals is an absolute mess and does not allow for the weapons to be used effectively in any sense.

There's a lot more I could add but I don't have the time, feel free to add to it in the comments

I feel only a handful of the weapons are fair as they are, but overall I 100% agree majority are overpowered. As for game (I might get hate for saying it), I think 6-9 need revisited and add tier 10 for a handful of animals.

This update would be much needed

#1259103456858210414 message I made several general suggestions in my thread related to weapon assortment as well as additional ammo types and weights as a means to adjust flexibility & balance without sacrificing a players preferred caliber over the cut & dry we have now. Yes it'll likely never happen but it was an idea as a feature to add utility and adjustments to performance that would provide diversity and rebalancing that would make more sense. As for the game animals •1-2 (Birds, Rabbits, Fox, Racoon, Bobcat, Lynx etc.) •3-5 (Deer, Pigs, etc. ) •6-8 (Gator, Blk Bear, Elk, Caribou) •9-10 (Croc (10), Moose (9), Buffalo (9), Cape (10), Lion (9), Brown Bear (9), Grizzly (9), etc.). 300win (6-8), 338 (8-9), 470 (10), .375 (7-10)

The rifle I see needs love the most is the .223 and the 6.5. There's must be many others but I dont remember them rn.

#

I think the muzzleloaders could cover class 9 too, idk if they were used to hunt big animals like buffalo tho

#

The cavesham and its variant need to have their rail removed when there is no scope. Buckshot is atrociously bad, the .410 birdshot too. The traditional arrows that covers class 1-3 barely can penetrate a Roe deer's skin.

The rifles that need fixed are the .270 and the 6.5, the .270 is almost the exact same as the 30-06, plus it could be a good base game weapon.

#1258352157154082836 are two ideas to make a massive difference in how the game actually plays.

I feel like keeping 9 or 10 classes is causing the problem more than anything else. We could do a 5 tier
0-50 pounds is tier 1 small game/farming
50-200 would be tier 2 light game
200-350 would be medium game (black bear being the largest predator here)
350-700 is tier 3 big game like red deer and elk
Tier 4 is 700-1000 including bison, moose, and yak
Tier 5 doesn't have a weight class as it's just dangerous game like lions tigers cape buffalo and water buffalo

I liked the ammo Swap Idea as it relates to my own weapon assorted idea, though I broke it down more. Buy the base rifle from the store and buy the added accessories barrel, stock etc. However the idea of a custom build option from scratch is alot more appealing. For a hefty price in the store of course & mix in calibers, bullet types, and weights for different tiers would vastly change the immersion & experience. Great suggestion

#

And I also love the reload option as well taking the same ammo variants I also mentioned but You took it a step further. 2 minds think alike I approve.

#

The Class system suggested would simplify it for sure however it would counter the idea of having various ammo if the classes are narrowed to 5 or 6. I'd be happy with a 1-10 class system in order to justify the various grain options in each caliber for various game and of course each bullet type would vary on expansion and penetration respectively. This would also provide the balances needed to prevent weapons from being op by default.

I might make my own winter update kind of thing if that’s okay

Okay yeah that works

# thick atlas OK, roe at tier 2, muntjac tier 1? And elk tier 4

? while were on the subject of your tier listing based on the ammo post how would you lay it out with only 5 tiers? What options would there be if its condensed, wouldn't it only make sense to have 3 different rounds at that point? I'm just curious how you'd do it using this idea

Tier 1 would be .223, .22-250, birdshot, and .22 lr and any other rimfire or sub .243 caliber we might get.

Tier 2 would be where .243, 6.5, .30-30,.270, buckshot, .357, .45 colt, 20ga slugs, and the air rifle started.

Tier 3 starts with .30-30, .30-06,.270, .308, .303, .44mag, both muzzleloaders, 7mm,buckshot, 7.62x54r

Tier 4 would be all of Tier 3 including. 300 and .338, plus .45-70

Tier 5 is at the moment .470 only because it's the only caliber we have that would be safe to use on cape buffalo and lions.

It's not comprehensive and no one will fully agree, but I think it makes more sense than having them cover small niches that aren't any kind of realistic. Ideally, changing calibers and reloading would be optional for the people who want to use it but who knows?

And obviously bullet type would vary expansion and penetration and effective range

Oh I did as I mentioned earlier in the thread

I plan to eventually post another thread more in depth on the customizations I mention briefly in my other thread.

I really would love the option to tailor ammo to what I feel like hunting, rather than just a general shell. I feel like ammunition could add so much depth to the game but isn't even utilized as well as it could be right now

We need Predator decoys to go along with the rabbit/fawn in distress calls! Maybe they could even come out with these new guns!

Bulk ammo buying would be a huge win just let me buy like 50 rounds at a time

.22 is also powerful enough currently
