I mentioned this in my thread as well to shoulder or holster the last weapon used while not in use as well as 3rd person or 3rd person shoulder view. Amoung other things to polish the game more over maps. We dont need more maps we need definition and modern additions as well as bug fixes on existing maps long before getting more content to shoot at like a carnival gallery.

And what about the 6+ guns everyone has on them at all times?

As stated shoulder or holster last active weapon when not in use

Not if they apply some of the suggestions mentioned in my post as well as others related to the dlc cosmetics, outfits, and the camera angle view as well as general character customization in the future. It would be valid towards polishing the game to make it more immersive then what we have now. Dont get the wrong idea we have alot polish and content since launch and its making progress. But when a map is still broken since its release with the same bug even after 4 additional maps were added is not good. Its 1 thing for the new dlc ea. launch to have bugs, they all do. However they need to cut back on maps and solve the immediate issues or it will eventually get to point where the game will lose its funding and go under or be abandoned due to issues like the fate of many titles before it. Point is this is a content idea that may or may not be added later. Tired of ppl pushing for maps when we already have alot of game already n they push it only bc they want a safari 2.0. Be happy with what we have and allow the team to breath and fix the issues and read through the ideas ppl post so they can keep improving the game over pressuring for more maps. If you want safari 2.0 I hope they give you 5 new animals on Savannah over a new map.

Atleast it would save the team time from exhausting their resources creating a reskin of an existing map n narrative to boot. Plus it'll be less work to just focus on new models, animation, ai, & sound for a handful of animals then an entire living environment.

Ppl need to understand TheHunter is not Cabela's DangerousHunts. Its Not meant to be a shooting gallery & its getting to be that way bc all ppl want to do is kill everything or sit there and kill spawns to farm. This new map is fun however I'm upset they allowed Tigers and Leopards to be hunted bc up till now TheHunter stories and game have been legit n now since we can hunt Tigers and Leopards now they want rhinos and elephants even though the Savannah. Story has you investigate poachers and to protect a rhino AND bc of that the rhinoo was not added. So yea I'm not thrilled ppl are jumping the ban wagon bc TheHunter has always been legit. The new map story explains alot of the culture but it makes no sense to be there if hunting is illegal and just bc you have a special license doesn't sit right with me as a hunter. Esp. since TheHunter is the closes game I've played to the real deal minus the freedom to kill anything & everything with no consequences.

#

So I do want legit content as a Hunter for the immersion over even more maps with more things to slaughter, and that includes adding features that'll make TheHunter more of a sim then a shooting gallery wanna be hunting game like cabelas did with there titles.

Okay but rhinoceros and elephants can legally be hunted in parts of Africa (South Africa and Namibia allow limited rhino hunting and 8 countries allow limited elephant hunting), its quite a bit different from tigers and snow leopards in Nepal, and speaking of Nepal if they used the irl hunting laws as a basis for their species list the only big cat that would be present is the Indian Leopard (a subspecies infamous for producing several famous maneaters). There has been several things in the game that prevent me from calling COTW a realistic hunting sim (Hence why I call it a hunting game) like Lesser Kudu being on the same reserve as species like Springbok and Gemsbok (Lesser Kudu are native to Northeastern Africa while Springbok & Gemsbok are native to Southern Africa), Mule Deer on Parque (Yes most of the species are imported but Mule Deer are not currently present in Argentina despite a handful of sources claiming such) and the ballistics being far from realistic.

Now Cabela's Dangerous Hunts, the last two games were basically Call of Duty but the terrorist were replaced by demonically possessed animals bent on killing your character regardless of the risk

Ngl it was a gallery shooter 😆 I'm not siding with anyone but it was for sure like that.

I have both Big Game Hunter: Pro Hunts and Big Game Hunter 2012, the 2012 game was a gallery shooter for sure

They all were not just 2012😆 I have the games on my shelf and I still remember how it plays and how it acts.

Regarding weather COTW should be a realistic game or not, I think it should have found a somewhat better balance between realistic simulator and a video game, not lean to heavy to one side or another, but thats my opinion and I'm sure people would want COTW to lean to one side or another

Dont get the wrong idea I'm fine with new maps and content within reason bc the stories and the content are ethical. The new map does make sense however it set the bar to lead to unreasonable demand for future content. I'd also like to see improvements that can easily be added in the future. But pressuring devs to make maps when existing content is in serious need of attention is a good way to kill a title down the road. I'm aware true sim content isn't possible this far in the games development respectively, however we dont need more things to kill when a polish is needed to add life bk to the game so they can add more.

I do agree about people having unreasonable demands, I remember a reserve suggestion that included both Javan and Sumatran Rhinos, both of which number less then 100 each, and while I am a bit more open to including "protected species" on my reserve suggestions, its gotta be within reason (like is the population high in the country I am setting my concept in etc). To be fair elephants on an African hunting reserve is more realistic seeing as how limited legal hunting exist in 8 seperate countries

Yea, I love the game to death but I really love the ideas out there and I'm just tired of ppl shooting anything down just bc they want maps just to kill stuff when alot of suggested content would improve the experience and add flavor or color to an outdated title. Like I said more polish would payout in the long run for a life of any game over feeding transaction content that needs constant repair😓

With all do respect you miss understood my post. 1st and formost I'm not going to argue or pretend I know everything about Africa as well as its Safari. However I will argue I know more than my share in wildlife management as well as the ecosystem & animal behavior studies within the US. 2nd my statement and point was ppl are treating TheHunter as a shooting gallery game just like how Cabelas depicted there games. 3rd the story behind the new dlc makes sense and is a real scenario just as all the reserves have been I wont argue that n I've done field work on these issues myself in the US. The issue I was implying is because a protected species was introduced ppl are going to push for more to be added to the game without understanding why. In most cases they just want to kill it bc they can and think its ok to do so without knowing why its not. Population control and thinning isn't uncommon to maintain healthy wildlife I know why but most do not is the point. As for Africa and Safari I've never been there however I have enough knowledge and sense to know when a species is protected its wrong to hunt them for sport. Even if its a way to bring in money I still think its wrong. The only small acception is if the animal doesn't go to waste and is donated to those who are in need and its in a controlled situation for maintaining healthy wildlife. Then again our methods and views in the US compared to Africa in wildlife conservation could very well be worlds apart. If so and your offended it wasn't my intent to be offense towards irl affairs as my comments were directed towards the games current player base and direction.

And a hunting farm sounds alot like a US fenced game reserve in comparison to me, although I'll look into it before I speculate further on the subject.

#

Ah its no different then elk ranches and other fenced reserves that farm, hunt, and breed big game. However in any case to speculate I know nothing is far from the truth.

Eitherway I didn't join these threads to discuss actual real life events & or its issues everyone wants to drag into video game threads. I'm here to discuss content and solutions to keep it going. Not drama & everyone is entitled to there opinion respectively on the subject, however they can do so without making it personal.
