I really don't like the tsurugi. It's "competition " design doesn't feel like a hunting rifle to me. It's design is way more suited to bench at the gun range than stalking elk and bear. The sights are awful, it just looks unwieldy, and there's nothing that makes it feel great for traditionalist fans.
So I suggest the BAR Safari .338. It's a semi-auto with even more power than the Arzyna at a relatively small cost. This rifle would only hold four rounds in a magazine and the rate of fire is only a bit faster than a bolt action, but the gas system in this model is very good at taming recoil which makes it quick to get back on target.
I'll be honest, for a .338 I'd have much preferred a bolt action with a 3 round magazine and a nice wood stock. The BAR is a bit of a compromise between traditional and modern but at least it would feel like a proper hunting rifle
