#.300 Blackout? Seriously?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I wouldn’t even trust .300BLK to kill black bear, nevermind Elk.
It feels like EW didn’t do much research on this one.
At best it'll be a 3-6, maybe 2-5. Kind of a bummer that the tacticool guys managed to weasel their influence into a hunting game as well.
Especially when we are this close to getting two incredible hunting rounds for wildly different purposes, upsetting to say the least.
The .375 would have been a HAMMER. The devs might have made it an 8-9 double rifle. There's just something cool about them. Everyone can afford a .300 BLK irl, NOBODY can afford an actual Holland & Holland. I play this game to hunt game I can't afford to hunt I with guns I can't afford 😂
I can see it also being used for 3-6 game and I also could see them releasing it in a bolt over an AR as well as the .450 Bushmaster. The 300blk is one of the most popular calibers for hogs so I can easily see why it was requested. Don't get the wrong idea I personally dont think we need another 30cal atm, the .375 is a tier 7-9 easy as another heavy hitter and a grand choice. The .17Hmr I wouldve liked as well for 1-2 game since we have 4 (Birdshot, sm game arrows, 22lr, 22H) atm. The .450 Bushmaster I feel could be another 7mm for 3-7 or 4-7 game as a mid range hitter. I'll be happy either way with the .450 in hopes my prediction is correct on the versatility, but Idk how I feel about the 300blk its a wild card on what the devs will do with it 😓
6-9 preferably.
Yall do know that the top 3 calibers are the ones that are going to be in the new weapon pack, right? It’s the .375H&H, .300BLK, and .450 Bushmaster. It’s not just the .300BLK.
Sure do and I'm excited for the .450 Bushmaster
Thunk most people aren't happy .300 was even an option
But the fact that it’s not the only gun in the pack should be enough to stop people from whining about it. It’s not like the world is gonna end because a mediocre round is coming alongside 2 really good rounds.
Thinks it's more that if we end up with a suppressed weapon of any kind the update will be balanced around it and make a ton of small but very annoying changes.
Their post doesn't even confirm that we are getting any of those cartridges it literally says "inspired by"
I'm 90% sure the 300blk isn't going to be suppressed. As you said it would'nt be balanced with the existing content. Even the .45 PCP air Rifle produces the same amount of stress as a gunshot where the bow barely does. And inspired could mean similar or it means a variant (model) in the caliber. And whether ppl like it or not its pretty clear the majority wanted the .300blk. The .450 Bush was 2nd & the .375 H&H was 3rd. And honestly the results make sense. Here in the US the 300blk is popular for medium game more often than not for boar hunting. The .450 Bush is also a popular round for medium to large game. The .375 is not common but not unheard of in the US. So it doesn't surprise me in the least given the results. But like Schrader said its not the end of the world. More reserves will come and more packs will follow in suite. At the end of the day these 3 won an all we can do is wait & see. No point making a fuss till we see what actually happens. And it matters not if its in a Bolt, AR, or Breach Platform. Be thankful they gave us a chance to choose.
We don't even know if it's actually semi-auto or bolt action. Personally would mind a lot less if it was 2-6 ranch rifle
Would at least feel like better .223
I'm expecting it to be that exactly more or less.
I'd have much less of an issue with this than a suppressed rifle but on the other hand I think this type of action is more interesting than another AR
If anything of the 3 the 450 would be an AR I'd be surprised if its not
Its defn. not going to be suppressed its not logical based on every weapon we've gotten thus far.
The only issue I have with the .450 is I'm afraid it'll just be another 4-8 and we have 10 of them already
I think it will be a 3-7 personally and I'd be happy with that as my main versatile game caliber.
It’s not a suppressed round. There is a subsonic round that is used in .300blk, but it’s an abysmal hunting round. Most people that hunt with that .300blk do not use this round, because (I know from experience) it literally couldn’t kill a coyote.
.300BLK sub sonic properties are massively responsible for its popularity. It's general popularity is the only reason it was in that poll. As you said, it's an abysmal hunting round. It was created with bipedal targets in mind.
I'm aware n thats the debate because most kids think HoneyBadger or COD with the 300blk and thats the perception to push the votes is their getting something like it. B4 I get bombed on I'm guessing some but not all did for that reason. I've hunted with both platforms AR & Bolt in 300bk & it does work up close. But thats the point were trying to get at to ppl is its likely going to be a ranch rifle or a base AR & not a suppressed decked out military carbine.
Even so I feel like the .17 would've been so much better. Small game hunting needs some love. We have quite a few 2- whatever options.
Judging by the fps and what I've seen it can't compete with a .44 magnum, I'm not happy it won the poll.
This is literally because EW didn't give any information about the classes these calibers would take in game
I agreed to that bc we already have several 30cal weapons as well as varmint calibers like the 22-250. But them wabbits need love
I wouldn’t say that it’s EWs fault, it’s lack of research on the part of half the people that voted it. They probably saw .300 and went “ohh .300 gimme” without realizing it’s essentially a slightly suped .223
It is EW’s fault for giving the option without presenting any additional info.
My friend, they could have at the absolute least shown the classes they were thinking each one would cover
They did that with every other caliber, yet y’all are out here only complaining about the .300blk. It’s not the end of the freaking world. Theres 2 other really good calibers coming with. Calm yourselves.
either way fellas its done all we can do is wait and see. We got the .375 and the .450 in the mix. Another pole is on the 16th as well.
Or, people could do their research to see which calibers could be useful and then we wouldn’t have a bunch of people whining right now, but here we are, we can’t change nothing.
.357 magnum was also an option, you can literally name guns for every pistol caliber that won't be a handgun
oh I'm not sweating at all I'm fine with the results actually thrilled provided they do them with justice. 375 is expected to be the nxt heavy mag on the block, 450 I hope is wide ranged 3-7 if not 4-7 🤞 and the 300blk is a new hog gun either way
This is how everybody should be thinking about this. The .300blk is NOT the only new caliber coming with. Theres 2 powerhouses and a mediocre round coming, what’s the big deal? The polls in the past, it’s done.
People thought the .350 and .400 were “big” calibers too until they fell off in the poll so far they were irrelevant
too be fair I can respect the comments about the 17HMR bc of tier 1-2 is limited esp tier 1 but the votes spoke volumes and I still strongly believe its 50/50 between those who are thinking honeybadger cod, seeing 300, and those who use it irl for hogs and deer. But.......375 is in & ppl wanted it since Savannah and we got a Hornady 450Bush that I never wouldve thought would be suggested let alone added and I'm jumping in joy for. So all we can do is wait and see what they do and 🤞 they do us proud. Again I'm thankful they even gave us a choice in the 1st place.
The .350 is not big, and the .400 is such a new round that I’m nearly certain next to nobody has heard of it.
Here's a comparison if you wanna show anyone, also have .30-06 if that's better
isnt the 350 a lever and breach rifle I forget
That’s my point. There’s a ton of lack of information that caused issues for this poll
Haven't seen a lever action .350 at all, only bolt and break actions. Was gonna build an AR in it but after I tried it out at a friend's place I wasn't impressed
There is .360 Buckhammer lever actions, they're a beefy straight wall cartridge that seems pretty solid. Might be what you're thinking of
i wasn't sure from the photo at1st it looked like a straight case but I see the shoe now
its not common in my nik of the woods
heard of it but never seen it no one ever had it on the shelves
To be honest? I got really lucky driving past closing sale at a store and bought 200 rounds for 30$ or something. I was gonna just give them to my friend but my wife said she wants a .350 single shot. Pretty sure she wants to use it at a comp we go to every now and then
I'm kinda wondering if the community weapon pack is going to be coming with an update to weapons. There'll be the usual rebalncing yeah but I'm curious if something bigger is coming. ew_patrycja showed off some reticles the team is looking at in #1180283487719260170 A few days and it's been making me curious sense
Nice I used to do 300-600yd shoots with my .308 Howa 1500 custom......😢😞 I miss that rifle
I can believe it I've been mostly happy although I'm not much of a fan of the AR pk we got and the 300win was fun but it needs more bang in recoil. Its too steady for me
the 22 was nice the 223 was meh, the .308 was not quite what I hoped. The bolt was awsome though
Can you go check out the thread? I'm the only one that actually responded but I think more attention might make them more likely to add it
? what thread

Now I'm just worried that didn't go through
Ah
