so I played aloooot on console and just got my fire reignited to play on my pc but I see you guys never took time to fix the white tail antler models any irl hunter who has hunted whitetail knows the racks for them in game and super unrealistic white tipped tines small scoring bucks that the rack goes straight out the side of their head and even getting into some of the larger trophies absolutely no mass whatsoever does ew have any plans to fix this especially since whitetail have been in the game since release the legacy racks looked more realistic than what we have now also when yall finally gonna add squirrels to the game oh and why do animals still spook at 200 yards with no line of sight while I'm slow walking I love this game so much but any avid hunter would know there's alot of flaws in your system for spooking animals I've hunted all my life ie. Since I was like 5 and I can tell you on multiple occasions I've had whitetail lay down and nap under my treestand and I've stalked whitetail in and out of forested areas within 20 to 30 yards with ease oh and lastly why do the ducks land on my waterfowl blind and not in the spread when I'm not even using the caller I even set my blinds like 20 yards away from shore and they never just light in the decoy spread and lastly what's it gonna take to get bait piles and corn feeders in the game thank you hope to actually hear back from you but I know this community is large but hey worth a shot right

Some examples easily found on Google of whitetail rack growth also can provide irl photos if needed got plenty of mounts and old pictures of smaller bucks shot when I was younger or just filling tags for food

A little while ago Jaxy said on a stream that TruRacs is in a "good place" and they have no plans on doing anymore adjustments to whitetail and most other species at this time. As far as the ducks go, it COULD be the AI is designed to have the go towards the call over the decoys. Maybe the attraction strength overrides the decoys? I agree though I hate the way they try to land on top of you.

I don't use the call just the decoy spread and dang the tru racks system is nice but I wish whitetail got some love they're one of the largest spread deer species in the world and most popular to hunt little disheartening that since day 1 truracs they still haven't fixed the rack growth and maturity of whitetail

I agree man. I have three piebald whitetail in a huddle whitetail right? One is 154, one is 151 and one is 154 again and they all look identical. It's my main immersion breaker in this game and really the reason I quit hunting them. I'm an IRL whitetail hunter myself (Southeastern NC) and whitetail in this game lack. The Racks just aren't right. They're just not. Not to mention I see the same deer over and over again from identical racks.

I think the devs are just stretched out tbh my friend. They've been doing a lot the last year but I feel with enough feedback they'd do it. It IS a community driven effort tho so it's all about numbers. A lot of people have asked about TruRacs and TRU system improvements in general so I'm sure it'll be looked at again at some point if not already.

I think COTW needs the RAG ( Random Antler Generator ) that The Hunter Classic has but it seems like it's too advanced for COTW which is surprising because The Hunter Classic is a 15yr old game and has the feature

Yep whitetail have the most subspecies of any deer species in the world 38 is the official number but some people argue upto around 45

100%. Whitetail were one of the 1st species to get the "trurack" system and they haven't had any kind of rework since then. Mule deer have even had a whatever u call it "updated" antlers upon introduction. Whitetail haven't had any live given to them since they were introduced as the original GO. They're def one of the most popular species in the game but now they're so "outdated". The lack of variation and not updated is frustrating.

With this new map the devs want the players to hunt outside of drink zones and with WT it's impossible cause on all the maps WT don't eat where they should. WT are obsessed with corn. On MA I have 1 a tall feed zone in 1 corner of all the corn fields. WT are also obsessed with pumpkins and you'll never see a WT near a pumpkin patch. I do understand that the devs live overseas and less that 1% actually have been here in NA and hunted them
As a lifeling WT hunter I'm very disappointed on EWs presentation of WT overall. They should send Jaxy here for just 1 season for WT hunting and Mayne they'd listen to his feedback. WT def need and upgrade!

I've played the game since introduction and after trueracks there's no replay ability for WT. I love the WT GO variations bit it's so painful to chase a WT GO cause I've seen the same small handful of racks a thousand and one times. I find myself not wanting to keep chasing them cause they're best Hunted at drink zones and there's 8-10 antlers that have been seen a million times

They know full well all the problems revolving the WT. They've talked about it several times on stream. They're indicating no plans to improve that system. Jaxy said to me when I asked and I quote "we think they're are in a good spot right now. At least you have options right? It's just not something I think the dev team should be putting resources to at this time." Now he said AT THIS TIME so it's possible they get looked at again but it's not likely. EW is very slow with reworks and even slower when they themselves are convinced it's cool despite player feedback. I understand your pain fam it's very immersion breaking. With Jaxy being an IRL hunter and a high level one if I've heard the truth, I'm surprised he's so content with such a sub par animal modeling system. I've killed the same deer hundreds of times over as well my friend. It sucks. A lot. I don't grind, but I can see how it'd get old especially playing that way because those people see waaaay more animals just just regular stalkers.

100% agree. I wish they'd make a new NA map in the Midwest. With tons of a variety of fields and thick hardwoods and have the focus be on hunting WT in feed zones like the tahr. Would be a great opportunity to update the WT and give us a good option to hunt away from drink zones. There should be drink zones but better feed zone options. In game the WT feed in the strangest places and not as realistic. Plus they can add pheasants and grouse. Mule deer,which need antler update as well. Level 4s are way more impressive than the few 5s. But also can have geese,turkeys or whatever fits in. Just my 1 wish. Can even have elk,bear. I know we already have lots of those animals but not together on a good map. They should've added WT to SRP. Mulies live hand in hand with WT in the rockies and in the Midwest. It'd be an antler focused map with tons of fowl options. I'd esp love to see grouse added.

I love the idea personally. I think they'd address what they could of this with backfilling and zone adjustments but a whole map is unlikely IMO just because the community itself doesn't seem to shine much on another NA map. With the right adjustments though, SRP and NEM could be way better than what they are. Neither are bad really they can just be a little annoying to hunt.

My biggest problem is that the Northern “subspecies” being the ones on Layton and NEM have the mass of southern deer such as on Mississippi and Rancho. They don’t really follow Bergmann's rule at all, I don’t think it would be hard to separate the whitetail deer species at all.

If you look at Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Michigan in Autumn… it is a spitting image of NEM, especially the lowlands like the fields. The species list is also far closer than any other.

It does to an extent. Yes I know it wouldn't be a lot of new species but it would be cool to have most of the major antlered species in 1 map. Yep,MN has elk and moose. So those could be on the Midwest map. And if eventually mule deer and elk get GOs. Then you'd have 5 different GO species to hunt on 1 map. And the Midwest is so diverse in environment they could make a cool new map. It's just my thought and wishes.

yeah, that'd be ideal, but its worthy to note that programming truracs is probably pretty complicated to get working right already. so imagine altering an already incredibly complex math problem for a slightly different hyper-specific output

it was already probably a feat in itself to get the antlers looking organic

but i could be totally wrong about the difficulty of adjusting truracs, and it could be very easy for artists to manipulate given if their programmers made some tool for them to utilise
