I’m just curious if y’all will ever get a deal with any hunting brands. I know the 6.5 creedmoore and 22-250 is based off 2 tikka rifles, WOTH have been licensed with brands, and COTW is bigger, so I think you may be able to get licensed, I don’t know if it cost something or anything like that, but it would be cool and probably easier to add new weapons. I’m just curious about this.

They mentioned that in the survey at the beginning of the year.

I would like to see SCI if they went for brand deals

I would like a bushnell or vortex brand deal. Also browning, as jaxy wears that hat in every stream

I am certain they can get a brand deal if they wanted. The issue is do you want to pay more (i.e., the licensing fee) for a name attached to a digital asset? These sorts of licenses can be very expensive.

There can be other problems with brand deals, such as when trademark owners, for example, insist on their product being "the best" in the game (even compared to any future content), or pull the license for some reason.

Trust me when I say this you don't want to pay licensing deals to those companies. As @upper marten said ... EW would be forced to raise their prices to cover the cost of licensing and the brands would be doing nothing but advertising their products to you .... That's why Brands do licensing deals so they can advertise their products to you the consumer. This is one big reason why I haven't purchased WOTH because of their licensing deals .... If they remove the brands and lower their cost accordingly I would probably at least give it a try ....

Way of the Hunter has brand deals if you want them. Call of the Wild does not need them.

I’d rather they put their money towards developing their game, way too many animals need complete reworks and behavior revamps.

An extreme case, but EA Sports lost the FIFA license in 2022, ending 30 years of franchising to EA. It would, of course, be very improbable for something like this to happen to COTW (it's not FIFA after all, and a branded gun will not end the game), but why bother when you know that can happen to some degree? (Like having to pull a DLC from sale.)

Or another way: what if the Remi Warren collaboration when sour and he ended the license?

I understand. My point is, he would have to be pulled from the game, which means lost development (and money put into it).

They have probably already recouped any money they spent on developing his likeness .... And at least in my case that deal worked to his advantage... I didn't even know who he was until he was mentioned in the SRP DLC

I didn’t know anything about that, I made this post cause I was curious

Way of the Hunter weapon DLC costs generally the same as Call of the Wild DLC. I dont believe the brand raises the price but it definitely lowers the quality of the product. With the newest packs every weapon seems to only be intended for the biggest game but not actually designed for it ethically so you're getting stuff too powerful for the small stuff that lowers your hunting score/rating and stuff that isn't as efficient on the biggest animals and you're tracking forever. And the lineup is filled with multiple weapons that are effectively the same thing just in a different caliber, all for the sake of being close to its real life counterpart in exchange for in-game effectiveness.

So in my opinion, the brand deal is basically lowering the quality, not raising the price. So if the price is the only thing stopping you from playing the game I think your judgement is in error.

That said, Call of the Wild is an infinitely better game and a world's better experience, so I don't think you're missing anything to be honest.

Talking about this topic, what do you think about the game Hunting Simulator 2? I wonder how a game that promotes firearm brands ended up failing. One thing to note is that I've barely played this game.

My question is what will these brands add to the game? Immersion? I think there are better ways and places to spend money.
