#How to fix tigers?

Can you elaborate a little on how you think tigers are broken?
I think their size might be slightly off but their behaviour seems to be what they're designed to do.
In my opinion, anyway. You enter their territory and they stalk you. Then they either kill you or you kill them.
It seems the community is split in two, it is quite obvious the combination of drink zones and low population creates an excessive amount of diamonds and rares, so without changing the population count and removing the drink zones, I think this would be the best of both worlds (where I lie, right in the middle of all this).
Fixing: Removing the drink zones
Yes. There's definitely a lot of emotion around them but they were always going to be a little controversial, in my opinion. The 'exploit' thread didn't help yesterday. But people had half the info and assumed things. The player of that codex image came on and explained that he only harvested diamonds and rares. He killed 500+ and got one rare and a bunch of diamonds. Typical results that I can produce over a few weeks so a fairly normal grind for a pro grinder and not quite the exploit it was percieved to be. I gave that grind a go yesterday and discovered it wasn't as easy as it's been made out. Some others did too and found the same. I urge people who are criticising it to do the same. To get the high results some grinders are getting you have to put in the same amount of work. For grinders, I think that's fairly normal routine and maybe a little easier with a reduced population but I think it's still very hard for casuals. I find it extremely boring and keep deviating to kill buffalo and yaks.I killed about 20 tigers yesterday and no diaminds or rares. I'm worried with all the loud voices that they'll nerf tigers so I'm going to continue at my pace until I get a diamond. May take a couple of weeks. I don't know if you've ever grinded but maybe give it a go and see what you think.
I did the same, after two full days of confusion, frustration and of course… grinding, I got my diamond, certainly not as easy as that post made it seem, lots of females randomly popping in.
The good thing about the tiger is that it doesn't make noise when it hunts animal like cougar and lion. It does make noise when it's in heat, which is normal in the world of felines. I think it's perfect that it attacks without prior notice. Rating of the specie 9/10. 1 point more if is removed the drink zones.
Yeah, that post was completely misleading and I wonder how many of those who were ranting about it actually tried that grind. Personally, I think the tigers are just right and well balanced and accessible for casuals and grinders. Nobody's getting dozens of rares unless you're a pro.
I think EW's decision need to and will come down to this though. There's another big new hunting game emerging on the horizon that put out a very interesting promo video this week. They'll be introducing elephants and a lot of controversial game, If they don't launch with too many technical issues they will blow every other hunting game out of the water. So they can't make the tigers too hard. People will jump ship very quickly for those exciting big game. UH is COTW's biggest threat at the moment but they do still have the advantage with their arcade-hunting rewards system so it will be interesting to what UH comes up with.
I can’t wait to see how EW is going to compete with Ultimate Hunting, it looks absolutely incredible. The last time there was a “COTW Killer” it was WOTH and WOTH is still in its infancy, has mostly taken a backseat in peoples minds since NZ.
I just discovered this new game. I hadn't heard about it before. Thank you!
Still about a year out, I really hope ballistics actually exist, but also not as much micro managing when it comes to animal populations as WOTH.
Yeah. I'm afraid as beautiful as WOTH is, they're dead in the water. Unless they change their overall game structure, i.e. allow time lapsing via the sleep mechanic, they don't stand a chance. I really hope COTW will remain competitive. I love the arcade system of this game. Despite all the bugs AND controversy, it works very well.
I saw the lion. The model is very realistic, even more so than WOTH and COTW combined. Now I'm just waiting to see how the mechanics turn out.
The main issue with this game is that an animal freezes on the shore instead of being alert and fleeing. This ruins my hunting journey. I am speaking of this bug.
I never noticed that but couldn't get into it anyway. I did all the missions then observed a fallow melanistic reach maturity. Very boring. They don't allow age time-lapsing because it's 'grinding'. Idiots. Pity though. The hunting mechanics are very good. Rabbits and waterfowl hunts are much better than COTW.
Anyway, we probably should get back on to tigers. 😬
It would be great if the tiger's growl was quieter, one of the Tigers I have hunted, made such a low growl that I thought it was my dog, but I still walked cautiously towards where I thought the growl might have come from, until I heard the sound of a twig behind me and I turned around scared, it was a great experience.
Making the growl softer would help it really surprise you, because most of the time I hear the growl and know to turn, knowing that 90% of the time it will be directly behind me.
Another thing that could change that would be that the Tiger's difficulty affects its Stalker and Ambush ability, a 1-Trivial could be more Clumsy and Slow than a 9-Legendary which is more Stealthy and a little faster and might not even alert us with his growl.
Maybe it's just my opinion, Tigers are great, but I feel like they could be a little better in terms of their Stalker and Ambush mechanics.
(I'm using a translator, sorry if something is difficult to understand)
I'd like to hear your experiences with the Tigers, to know that it's not just me who feels this way.
So after hunting tigers for a few days, in the field and at drink zones, I think they are perfect as they are and exactly what I expected from the promo hypes. They seem to be well balanced for new and experienced players. The animations and sounds are awesome too.
