I am interested how many people share the same opinion when it comes to - what i consider, one of the most important parts of maps. That is, their size, scale and realism/resemblance to the real world.

For me more maps, of smaller sizes with a smaller scale and most importantly more semblance to real locations would be superior to the current types of maps. That of wider scale, size and more arcade-like features. For the sake of shortness i will not delve too deeply into these topics... This will only be a small overview.

COTW's maps are Massive, and i think they could be tuned down to at least half their current size. The screenshots are a comparison between Classic and COTW, which wow... didn't think it was such a massive difference.

The scale of current maps in COTW is very big indeed. All those 64km² try to represent several different biomes all in one map. Instead we could seperate these biomes into their own smaller maps. Hirschfelden for example has a semi-alpine area to the East, and several types of farmlands and woodland. This is redundant. 2 or 3 smaller maps (Together equaling to 64km² or so) could better represent Bavaria. Weather the maps would be sold separately or in a collection is up for debate. (maybe 1 map 5$ and all 3 12$)

And lastly, the realism. Specific locations, national/regional parks and such would be ideal - in my opinion, but there is probably some regulation or law to stop or obstruct that. Anyway, with a downsized scale the realism should be naturally further emphasized so i don't think there is much to explain here other than that there would be more comparison to the real world.

I don't think this would be a popular change at all, but i'm interested to see what the community thinks...
