I would love it if alongside the yearly big reserve such as Sundarpatan this year, if we got smaller hunting lands scattered all around the world to get as many different hunting areas around the world into the game.
They would consists of a 25km² (5km×5km) area which much smaller than our reserves we have in the game.
This would be a great way to include hunting areas which otherwise wouldn't get added because they don't offer enough big game or game diversity for a big reserve to get added.
My first suggestion would be a reserve in the Croatian region of Slavonia which I already made a post about.

the Slavonia map offers some new game and a new experience, but it just isn't enough to make a full sized map for it, so this would be a wonderful way to compromise

I'm not sure if I would like it 4 times smaller because that's pretty small. I do support a 2nd smaller map. It would be perfect for adding the smaller game that was missed in previous reserves.
Could you imagine the duck and upland game bird map they could with this. They could make a duck hunters paradise for the people that feel the ducks aren't represented well in the game.

I wouldn't mind smaller reserves if they had a species composition similar to maps like Revontouli or New England but on a somewhat smaller (1/2 or 1/3 the size of a regular reserve) and by that I mean a lot of birds and/or small game animals with a few big game species, which means places like England, Greece (Kri-kri, Hybrid Ibex & Mouflon plus lots of upland), some more bird and/or small focused reserves in Africa and the US could all work this way

Would the price be lower? I don't mind one map per year. I'd like to see backfills and remasters in between and new weapons and hunting weapons/gadgets if they need to bring in revenue. There's so much they can add to the game that could broaden the hunting experience. Trail cams, pointer dog, a new quieter vehicle, horses....

Actually, the size is not a problem since it is generated by render, the problem is the designs, per map between 15 and 30 plants of 3 adjacent transitional geographic biomes/ecoregions and more than 10 animals are recreated...
I assume that when you refer to a Smaller Map you mean that it covers only One Biome/Ecoregion, in that case it will be easier in terms of design since you will only recreate a few predominant plant species (between 5, 8 or 10) and only the animals that inhabit it.
(To better understand this, let's take the example of the southwestern of Emerald Coast map, the Sub-Tropical Outback, where only goats, kangaroos, foxes and quails live).
If we had maps like this we could fill all of NA with the missing Biomes/Ecoregions or even Europe.
Even have a wetland zone in each region like a Duck season (where only waterfowl are hunted in the wetland zones), and who knows, maybe one day an International Waterfowl Slam xD

I am not familiar with the hunting seasons in Croatia, the main one is located in Autumn-Winter (Sep-Jan)?
It is a forest mostly composed of oaks, birch and conifers would be too similar to Hirschfelden at that time of year, but if you focus on Spring Summer it would look different..

also no, I do love hirschfelden because its similar to croatia, but it's not flat enough and is too thick to be the same, also too many lakes compared to what we have here

I like this idea of smaller reserves .... this could solve the problem with having another map featuring Blacktail .... could also have a small reserve on Kodiak Island to focus on those big Grizzlies .... I also think Kodiak Island has Blacktail ....
