I think it would be helpful to have a true upland bird dog. As when I’m hunting in tall grass or thick brush it would be nice to have a dog that can find the birds, point the birds, and possibly even flush them. I find the retriever dlc to be a step in this direction but not as fulfilling as it would be to possibly have a Britney spaniel that can help me sniff out the trickiest birds and increase my chances at finding them. Ik there are other dog breeds that could be used for these same purposes including the retriever but I chose the Britney spaniel because it’s my personal favorite breed for upland game bird dogs as they’re well known for it as well as many other breeds. But generally any breed of dog would do that could be used for the intended purpose to for one point the birds out and find them, flush, and retrieve. Or even possibly use 2 dogs at the same time which would be interesting to see how that would workout.
