I was playing The Angler and I adore the handbook - you can see all the species, info about them and you can also track your best trophies. Doesn't it fit good into The Hunter? Current ingame "handbook" is kinda useless and the only way to observe and enjoy your progress & trophies is a house - which is OK but you gotta pay real money for the good one and it's not so comfortable and demonstrable as handbook.

For some reason EW add QoL stuff to The Angler while they only add maps to The Hunter as I can see. That's sad. Because IMO there are still a lot of things to tweak in The Hunter

Maybe this “book” can also shows the biggest rare for every rare type: for the fallow deer for example, we can have the “book” that shows the biggest piebald, the biggest albino and the biggest melanistic

ngl I wouldn't mind if u have to harvest a species of the fur type and just 1 for the score and it tells you once you have claimed it if it was a rare or not in the book. I would prefer it to say the rares before but idr mind if its not

like you can open the needed species in the handbook and see what fur/feather types you have already harvested so you'll have an additional goal to fill the handbook fully
The Hunter becomes more of an animal collection thing rather than hunting sim in a 30 hours or so anyway so decent collection book will be appreciated I think. Houses are cool but meh, they can't be compared to a good handbook

They said they were going to fix bush audio issues and work on making the console multiplayer experience better 4 years ago. Bush sounds haven’t been touched and multi is worse than it was 4 years ago. Don’t get your hopes up. Would be nice to see some of this stuff though
