Hirschfelden is one of my absolute all time favourite maps in COTW the first time I played Hirschfelden in April 2023 was amazing and I loved the whole experience and love coming back to the map from time to time to spend time in the astonishing scenery that the map has. Hirschfelden is showing its age it is 7 years old and one of two base game maps alongside Layton Lakes. I really, really want Hirschfelden to receive some love even if I have to wait another 5 or 7 years whatever if this can come to the game it will easily be one of my favourite updates for the game.

Map:

● Hirschfelden is right up there alongside Layton, NEM, Revontuli, EC, and Sundarpatan in terms of natural beauty seeing a remaster of the maps scenery would be next level having seen the detail EW has put into the last four maps is insane and if Hirschfelden received that kind of treatment I would be living in the reserve which I kinda do IRL.

● I would also like to see a expansion of the map too with some potential species that could be backfilled or added to the game/map expanding the map near the western border would allow for species like Chamois and Alpine Ibex or other mountain dwelling species but something to the south and north would be cool.

I am aware of the fact that doing something like this takes basically the exact same if not more effort than making an entirely new map but I have a solution at some point when EW stops making new maps they could add things to the game to make them better like THC does with events but something like remastering would be cool too.

To be continued......

if they make the mountain more reachable (its clearly designed to be a map border) and refreshing the textures so it is more detailed it would make the perfect habitat for european alpine species (rock ptarmigan, alpine ibex ,chamois ,black grouse ,etc.)

#

also i would like mouflon and capercallie on the western side of the map

Remodels:

● I think most of the species need a remodel such as Roe Deer and Wild Boar and with what EW did with Red Deer and Fallow Deer I think they would look really cool

● Canada Goose ( I'm not sure if they did get a remodel or not when Revontuli came out )
● European Rabbit
● Roe Deer
● Wild Boar
● European Bison

european hares, greylag geese would also be perfect small game for the eastern side of the map

#

also badgers on the entire map with a burrow system would make way better

They are not huntable but I can still add them especially with the fact that we are getting Tigers and Snow Leopards

The river that runs through Taiga is the Lena River so it is within the range of the Capercaillies irl

older maps getting TLCs would be such a nice thing

surreal loom
#

if the top of mountain would become more detailed and mountainside wouldnt be a hardcore climbing adventure it would be a perfect spot to hunt alpine species

#

also a view from the mountain top over the map

#

i think a cloud mechanics like srp or sundarpatan have would bring a better mountain feel

Mouflon would actually be a really good backfill to Hirsch. the "Iberian mouflon" doesn't actually exist; the actual name is European mouflon, and they do have a population in Germany

They need to make Mouflon shaggier.

I agree. for people who cant afford extra maps a few extra animals would be good. from my experience Hirschfelden also lacks zones. I rarely find one. If im lucky I might find one on the outskirts

Hirshfelden is based where,Because I have the idea of putting animals in this map, a pheasant, a bovid created there and ducks. I know that cattle cannot be hunted but hey we have a tiger and a leopard and see other animals that really cannot be hunted. As for the ducks I have to check

So we have wolves here in Germany. Some say more than in Scandinavia…

#

About 1339

Ok, I tried to find the animals hunted in Germany but people keep talking about France, also it is the country of hunting. All I could find is that they can hunt 13 species including 8 migratory birds if I understood correctly

#

Yes, as a person of German origin, I knew it but for me it seems like the German Alps because the mountains are very high compared to the west of Germany which is flatter

And of course there are capercaillies and black grouse in the mountainous forests. I often thought it to myself as I ran through it. For me personally, this map also has a lot in common with the Alps, the Black Forest or the Thuringian Forest. You can find these grouse there... of course also the rock ptarmigan and the hazel grouse

This is why Revontuli Coast is one of my favorites… all that birds.

There is also the European and mountain hare

hirsch could have about the half of the class one from revontuli

What would also be really cool, of course, is the possibility of setting up live traps. Only for small animals, of course. Raccoons, foxes... it would add variety to the game. I know many hunters who love to walk around and check their traps. Of course, there's also something about pest control and earning extra money 😅

But aren't there other species that are quite endemic and a bit stylish or just that?

Afterwards, if one day they have done all the parts of the world, they will be able to modify the old maps and put more animals

I agree with all the great bustards are super mega interesting, they are still one of the heaviest birds that can fly, the largest specimen I have read weighed in at 21 kilos, so imagine seeing them on hirshfelden, it would be simply wonderful. fingers crossed that one day he puts this creature

In Spain, of course, there are significantly more. But Quatro is a DLC.
