Currently Vurhonga Savanna is the only African map we currently have in the game and it doesn't seem like there is another in the near future until at least 2026 but chances are it might come out in maybe 2028-2029 I don't know this map is the 4th map in the game out of 14 currently excluding Sundarpatan so it is a old map and it definitely shows. I don't like the map at all out of all 14 it is in 14th place for me and I wish there was a Africa 2.0 but because that's not coming anytime soon I'll have to settle with Vurhonga Savanna now if we got a mega update like this I would definitely play Vurhonga maybe not alot but it would help changing my opinion of the map. So without further ado I'll get straight to what I want to see.

Map:

● I would really like to see a remaster of the map comparing the level of detail of Vurhonga to say Sundarpatan is a massive difference, now imagine what Vurhonga would look like if it had a remaster it definitely would amazing the details and scenery would make it all the more enjoyable and visually pleasing.

● I would like a map expansion now the chances of this happening are next to nothing but currently I don't like the current layout of the map I find it unusual that the map is a Island surrounded by a large lake or river? And when you look at what is beyond the map's borders it looks very interesting.

Please wait for me to finish the rest of the post before messaging 🙏

Remodels:

● I think that basically all of these models are outdated especially the Side Striped Jackal so seeing a remodel for all of these would be amazing especially with what the current Dev team have accomplished so far

● Scrub Hare
● Side Striped Jackal
● Springbok
● Warthog
● Lesser Kudu
● Blue Wildebeast
● Gemsbok
● Cape Buffalo
● Lion

#

Current Species:

● Eurasian Wigeon should either be removed from Vurhonga Savanna or have the option to turn their calls down one of the reasons why I don't enjoy the map is because I get annoyed easily by the Eurasian Wigeon being over my head 24/7 while I hunt.

#

● Lesser Kudu do not inhabit Southern Africa where Vurhonga is so having them on the map makes no sense so I'm in favour of removing them but I know people like them so I could just accept them as I do like them too but still.

#

● In terms if behaviour in this case I'm talking about Lions needs to be improved greatly they do not act like the animals we should fear when we hunt instead it feels like I'm hunting mice and seeing what EW has done with Bengal Tigers I could not imagine getting one slash one kill while I'm hunting for Blue Wildebeast at a lake I would want this to be optional because at some point it may get annoying when I want to hunt and not get killed instantly.

I haven't quite finished yet but there's still a fair bit to go so you can now message thank you or ngiyabonga

Fully support this! Although I do like to hunt Lesser Kudu. One idea could be to move Vurhonga to another location in Africa that way they can make a true South Africa reserve. But if I had to choose between the two of them it would definitely be Greater Kudu 😂

Some in-game codex entries that indicate Vurhonga is in South Africa

Plus some stuff from a post I made ages ago about the same topic

Lets start with the Ndlopfu Gorge subregion of the reserve

  • Ndlopfu is a Xitsonga word for Elephant
  • Xitsonga is also known as Tsonga
  • The speakers of that language live in 4 countries: South Africa, Eswatini, Mozambique & Zimbabwe

Using the same website (https://www.xitsonga.org/dictionary/xitsonga?-=x) It is safe to say a lot of the names for areas on Vurhonga come from the Tsonga language

Speaking of the Tsonga, you get a few side missions from a character named Maria Mboweni and according too the in-game codex she is part of the Tsonga People

Another group of people mentioned in both codex entries and missions are the San aka the Bushmen who are only found in Southern Africa, with most of their population living in Botswana, Namibia & South Africa

Another thing that proves Vurhonga is in South Africa is another few codex entries

  • Great Escarpment (its listed as Grand Escarpment in the Codex): This is a mountainous region that includes the Drakensberg Mountains
  • South African Native National Congress and Sol Plaatje: Referenced in the Codex (Points of Interest: Sol Plaatje Hut)
  • Nelson Mandela is also referenced (Points of Interest: Madiba’s Freedom)

(Screenshots of the In-Game Codex stuff were taken on my Xbox One)

Also the Impala can replace the Lesser Kudu

# viral nova Exactly!

Plus I think every map before Revontuli Coast could probably use some love at one point or another personally I think we should start with the two base game maps because I could not imagine how amazing Hirschfelden and Layton Lakes would look with a remaster😭 they would kill me with their beauty

Eurasian widgeon should be removed and changed for cape widgeon and the lesser kudu should get they're range drastically shortened with them Beeing only found at 1-2km of coastline and the rest of another similarly sized Bush Antilope so the size lineup still fits
