I think the AI of the game is really boring, all animals feel the same, in classic we have the goats and sheep that sometimes bash horns, In Call of the Wild we could have some more things. For example:
-Herd species grooming each other: It's a super common behavior for animals that live in herds for them to clean each other and interact and I also think it could be an easy enough idle animation
-Predators actually hunting: We have the chasing behavior that is cool in wolves, but in pumas for example it feels forced, it's not really the way they hunt, we could have attacks that actually kill some animals, This could be events triggered by some events being made, like: predator in the area, LOW level LONELY prey in the area, both animals calm, player around. Could be cool and could make the populations very dynamic, and could result in animals the hunter doesn't expect to find around.
-Animals practice fighting with others in the same herd: This would be similar to classic, but could be implemented to other species
-Prey animals actually defeating predators: So similarly to the predators actually hunting, we´ve all seen the buffalo go aggressive with the pumas but what if the buffalo could actually defeat low level pumas when aggro. same rules, but obviously the buffalo should be aggressive not calm.
-Bears foraging around for food not just a magical carcass appearing, specially for the black bears, they should scratch trees and look for berry's on bushes
This could really make this game on top of any other game and make watching the animals more interesting and the game much more entertaining

Absolutely agree.
Pumas actually use to kill animals when parque first released, but the community complained as alot of the times they would kill diamond potential animals or even rares.
That mechanic was horrible, basically the longer you were online the more animals disappeared :S
Oof yeah, I think an exception could be made for that kind of interaction. Must have felt very frustrating.
That said, the OP suggested the targeted prey animals being low level lonely ones, so that it does not feel frustrating. I would add common furs only aswell, and the animals killed respawn after a short amount of time.
It would be pretty neat to have at least the harmless interactions, but I think this would only be implemented in a possible sequel of cotw.
Hello MRDragonJack,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on animal interactions
Your suggestions for enhancing AI behaviors to reflect more realistic animal interactions are intriguing. Implementing behaviors like herd species grooming each other, predators actively hunting, and animals practicing fighting within their herds could indeed add depth and dynamism to the game's ecosystem.
We appreciate your feedback on making the game more immersive and entertaining. While we can't promise immediate implementation, your ideas will be carefully considered for future updates to enhance the overall gameplay experience.
If you have any more ideas or feedback to share, please feel free to let us know. You can submit further suggestions through our support portal: https://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.
Happy hunting!

As long as they only target females or smthn, would suck if i see like a piebald red deer and a pumas kills, or wait maybe not because if you can claim them i’m onboard with it all
In rdr2 i saw how the puma grabbed the deer. I killed the puma and got two perfect hides.
Yes. We could claim them. Because the large predators kill prey "strangulation". It could be cool.

Yeah only killing females would be fine
i think if the pumas only killed low levels that werent rare it would be good
I mean if the player is around for the interaction to happen you could just claim the animal, if it's a deer female it has no medal so it doesn't matter how it died, and if its a low level male it could just keep medal when claimed

in real life predators mainly attack very old, very young, or weak. id say it would be easy enough to code the rule that Predators only kill low level and only in certain spawn distance around the player.
this could, indeed, add a lot of dynamic and interesting interactions in the world and also unintentionally help players in grinding.
