Hello COTW community and Expansive Worlds anyone who is reading this post if you're interested in this type of thing then hello and welcome I have watched both Sundarpatan livestreams with Jaxy showcasing the new map and I will be stating my personal opinion of what I have seen so far I also plan on doing a review of the map after the map's release too so maybe watch out for that too I'll shut up now and get to the main reason for this post. Non-Map Opinion:

Jaxybeard has shown us in this stream the new remodels for Water Buffalo and Blackbuck and all I can say is wow the devs did an amazing job at giving these two species some love that they definitely deserve. The level of detail is something I cannot simply comprehend with these two remodels I will definitely be checking them out on Parque Fernado and Sundarpatan when they come out assuming I don't die from sleep deprivation 😂 😂 😂.

Sundarpatan Reserve Opinion:

  1. Scenery, landscapes, weather etc

Sundarpatan is a incredibly scenic and beautiful map which is something that EW has managed to accomplish a few times with Revontuli, New England and Emerald Coast the different biomes and regions are amazing each with their own uniqueness and beauty, I know I'll likely be paying more attention to the views than the actual hunting and I'll spend many an hour exploring every centimeter of this map. The dynamic weather is something I love, Yukon Valley does a incredible job of this going from a summer and autumn look to straight winter in a matte of minutes so awesome job on that.

I will have to continue this Opinion/Mini Review later since I might run out of space to write this and then not be able to post so bye. 👋

  1. Weapon and caliber

I know absolutely nothing about guns I do understand the basic concept of them but I cannot go into detail about a weapon this new rifle that we are getting is a very welcome change to my loadout nice change from our usual Bolt-Action or Semi-Automatic rifles the sound and visuals of the new weapon are awesome the caliber is something I've never heard of but I'm definitely interested in it one small concern I have is the fact that it is a Class 4-8 now don't get me wrong I love those weapons but I'm surprised to see that it was not a different class range something like 4-9 would've been better or 5-9 I don't know but after all of these weapons with the same class range I would've wanted to see something a little different in terms of class range.

  1. Species List

The species lineup is incredibly cool many Big Game species which I am stoked for especially the Barasingha and Himalayan Tahr the Bengal Tigers and Snow Leopards are incredible especially the Tigers with all of their fur variations hats off to the devs, love every single species and the designs I won't ramble about every single one of them but now towards my dislikes.

  1. Greylag Goose. I am very bummed out by the fact that we're not getting Bar Headed Geese or some new species of Bird I love Greylag Geese but Bar Headed Geese would've been a better opportunity.

  2. Number of species. I'm fully aware that the amount of work put into the species is substantial and takes alot of time and effort but for 12 months of development time I would've hoped for maybe 20 species now not all have to be new I would love to see Sambar and Hog Deer as well as Axis Deer too and Wild Boar maybe I think in terms of numbers 13 seems good but 20 would've been so much nicer.

  3. Great One Himalayan Tahr. It has been confirmed that Himalayan Tahr will be the first ever non Base game GO I know alot of people are bummed but I am stoked I have wanted these guys for the longest time and the fact that we are getting a GO for them too is awesome. One last thing from me is I was hoping that there would've been a 2nd GO too something along the lines of Barasingha or Wild Yak would've been all the more better.

  1. Free update.
    the things that we have seen until now are definitely nice to have especially the remodels I really wished for and the bug fixing. I would have hoped for one or two free refills or remodels on other maps but I understand the focus Beeing set to the new map

  2. Landscape and scenery
    It's perfect it just is I love the dynamic weather system and the map layout the time has out down themselves to quote jaxy beard and I just can't wait too see the new map with my own eyes

  3. The new weapon
    This weapon is a 10/10 for me I love unusual and old weapond it seems fun too shoot tho I would have wished for a little less strong ammo that would shoot 3-7 like with the hudzik.

  4. Animal roster the mammal rostwr is nearly perfect with so many new species and the recycled species getting remodeled I would have liked goral or argali but I'm super fine without them. The bird roster on the other hand is more yen questionable Nepal is bird wise the most diverse region we have gotten in the game and the only bird You included Beeing the graylag goose is the only real reason why this map won't be a 10/10 for me.

  5. The great one I like seeing a new great one ingame thats something different I love the fur of the tahr and I think I will actually grind this one if the tahr don't range over the entire map and have drink zones at daylight.

From what I saw a 10/10 but my final pre release critique is 8/10 because of the not including of birds I also would have loved seeing either a crocodillian or rhino on the new map.

Overall for me first glance 10/10 but I'm probably leaning more to 9/10-9.5/10 now that I think about it more probably 8/10 first glance and maybe 7.5/10 but obviously I need to play the map first

I can't Do anything above an 8 or 7 because of what I think would have made the map perfect with a 5 Beeing a good solid map for me something like Quatro and a below 5 a map that is kinda bad or could be much better for me this is the case with vurhonga savannah and an 8 Beeing the highest I've ever given for revontuli and emerald coast where lack of interesting mammals and lack of some iconic animals I would have liked to see Beeing the reason they didn't score 10.

I'm also still mad they didn't include the number one bird in Finland the common eider 😭

1.update: a bit dissappointed, hoped for more (backfill, new feature or other ) 6/10

3.species : that tiger alone would let me pay(just look at this lovely cat ) 9/10

Not a panther species but it's pretty close (because panthers are only species of the genus panthera and the cougar is in the puma genus together with cheetah and jaguarundi)

just a thought but I could see the .470 finally getting some constant use to take care of charging tigers
