The duck species that we are presented in the game are not held to high standards I feel as we are missing a high diversity in water fowl. Me myself as being a waterfowl hunter aka a duck hunter see this as an issue because there’s so many species of ducks that are over looked. The duck species being
• wood duck
• pintail
• gadwall
• spoonbill
• dusky duck
• blue wing teal
• bufflehead
• canvasback
• American widgeon
• whistling duck
• red head
• ruddy duck
• common merganser
• hooded merganser
And now to think that this is only the amount of ducks that are missing in north America is for one thing somewhat saddening and for two imagine how many we are missing in other parts of the world in the Europe maps that we are presented. I can’t help but feel a little left out sitting in my duck spot without hearing the sound of wood ducks or hearing the whistle of a pintail flying over to just see these ducks feel left out of the picture.
For game birds I would generally again love to see more diversity here. I have noticed there are no species represented in the columbidae family which would be doves and I see very phew members of the order of Galliformes which for those that don’t know include any land fowl which would be turkey, pheasant, quail, partridge, Guineafowl, grouse, chukar and so many more. And I again feel like a lot of these birds have been under represented within the game and or have just been skipped over.
I already know there are so many other posts representing this issue but at the end of the day, I thought I would make my own and hear our other peoples opinions on the matter. Because as a game bird enthusiast it’s hard to feel fulfilled without some key species in some of the maps.
Even if they may never get added the awareness of them possibly getting the option of being added to the game would be such a game changer and just be awesome for those interested in targeting these species and giving them an opportunity to hunt them.
