The duck species that we are presented in the game are not held to high standards I feel as we are missing a high diversity in water fowl. Me myself as being a waterfowl hunter aka a duck hunter see this as an issue because there’s so many species of ducks that are over looked. The duck species being

• wood duck
• pintail
• gadwall
• spoonbill
• dusky duck
• blue wing teal
• bufflehead
• canvasback
• American widgeon
• whistling duck
• red head
• ruddy duck
• common merganser
• hooded merganser

And now to think that this is only the amount of ducks that are missing in north America is for one thing somewhat saddening and for two imagine how many we are missing in other parts of the world in the Europe maps that we are presented. I can’t help but feel a little left out sitting in my duck spot without hearing the sound of wood ducks or hearing the whistle of a pintail flying over to just see these ducks feel left out of the picture.

For game birds I would generally again love to see more diversity here. I have noticed there are no species represented in the columbidae family which would be doves and I see very phew members of the order of Galliformes which for those that don’t know include any land fowl which would be turkey, pheasant, quail, partridge, Guineafowl, grouse, chukar and so many more. And I again feel like a lot of these birds have been under represented within the game and or have just been skipped over.

I already know there are so many other posts representing this issue but at the end of the day, I thought I would make my own and hear our other peoples opinions on the matter. Because as a game bird enthusiast it’s hard to feel fulfilled without some key species in some of the maps.

Even if they may never get added the awareness of them possibly getting the option of being added to the game would be such a game changer and just be awesome for those interested in targeting these species and giving them an opportunity to hunt them.

I agree, I have learned the love of birds lmao
I do agree that pigeons/doves would be amazing to add, esp just domestic pigeons seeing theyre absolutely crazy with colour and feather patterns :)

Some of the older maps might be cool to add more ducks as they tend to have lower pops (give me more ducks now in Layton haha)

The lack of bird species on all maps is a huge game breaker for me, Birds are by far the most commonly seen whilst out hunting yet there are next to none... The introduction of corvid species across all maps as well as the aforementioned Waterfowl and Pigeons/Doves would be a good start. I feel the non existent presence of birds is what is lacking the most in terms of realism, The only map that comes close is Revontuli, The new map looks to be just as disappointing for new bird species. I guess the majority of people who play the game are more interested in "great ones" and grinding deer etc which to me is the opposite of what actual hunting is all about. I say this with years of experience as a shooting guide in Scotland.

Hello @grave hedge,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the diversity of waterfowl and game birds in theHunter: Call of the Wild.

We appreciate your detailed list of duck species and other game birds you feel are missing from the game. We understand that as a waterfowl hunter, the presence of a wider variety of species would greatly enhance the hunting experience and make it more realistic and enjoyable.

Your feedback about adding species like wood ducks, pintails, gadwalls, and others is valuable, and we recognize the importance of representing a diverse range of birds in both North American and European maps.

We'll make sure to pass your suggestions along to the rest of the team for consideration in future updates. Expanding the variety of game birds could indeed be a great addition to the game.

If you have any more ideas or feedback to share, please feel free to let us know. We're here to listen!

If you have any more ideas or feedback to share, you can submit them through our support portal: https://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.

They need to fix the whole landing into blinds thing first.

It’s not as common as what happens Ingame. No matter what you do… you’ll never get a good shot because they always land in your blind or they land so far away you can’t use a shotgun.

Sure, it happens every now and then irl… but every flock??? Doubtful. It’s especially a problem on older maps where there’s limited placement spots for waterfowl layout blinds.

In my experience it’s the worst on vurhonga.

@crimson ravine idk how your team would truly scale them down but good references would be a good start. Teal in real life are tiny compared to larger duck species like mallards which I used as examples. And I showed a male I shot a while ago maybe even show you some of the more minute details of these birds.

I agree that the duck landing issue needs to be looked into but seriously they are so easy to kill as is ..... If I find a good spot for my decoys I can kill 20-30 pretty quickly ....
