A fix for turkeys

We rallied for turkeys for years and finally got them but I feel they weren’t done right I think they need a rework with tru beards and tru spurs this would also come with more restrict call where they might gobble 50+ times in the morning or gobble more easily at a call or locator call like in irl. Another thing that is unrealistic is that most people treat them like opportunity kills and not actually hunt them. This could change to where if you shoot them with a 22 it treats them like a grounded bird. Also no one shoots turkeys with just birdshot you need specialized turkey shot. A recent one that has came up is TSS (tungsten super shot). Since ew can’t use brand names they could change it to TTS (tungsten turkey shot)

Also something that could be added is a single shot 410. Since we only have the revolver and because of the new tss small gauges like 28 and 410. have became extremely popular. Guns like the Steven’s 301 is something I have irl for turkeys and it will wear them out even though it’s a 410. I will put an image below of the gun and a pattern from it for reference.

Class 1.5 would be a great fix for the birdshot thing, throw geese in there and it’ll be perfect.

also something that could be added is a red dot like the one that goes on the Glock for shotguns or just make that one eligible its what i use irl

Also the turkeys should strut a lot more than they do in game right now I have never seen one do it even though I know it’s a possibility

I like this idea a lot. I've been hunting turkeys with decoys more and it feels so fun, but the turkeys just kinda walk up to the decoys, stand for a little, and then leave.

I'd love to see them strutting, gobbling, maybe even squaring up with decoys. It'd feel so immersive.

But it can’t go on all the shotguns

Not the fault of the red dot. But it fits on the semi auto 10ga, all 12gauges, semi auto 20ga. All of those gauges are used for turkey irl. Plus the other guns that doesnt accept it look better without it. But even still, the pump 16ga for example can use the shotgun scope also

Great idea. But I might be the only one that seems to have an issue with how pellets work in game. Could be 5 meters away and only 1 pellet shows a hit or miss completely. I believe shotguns need a complete rework.

I like using the boomstick perk. Part of me wants a double barrel 10 gauge so i can fire both at the same time. I also wish i could use that perk on the 470 but i guess not 🥲

I literally spent 5hrs searching for ammo to use with the tier system over a weapon being generalized & the Game is really all over from 4 & up so I carefully moved them to be more accurate in my thread with your link & a coyote link to tie it together.

Defn. I'm going to keep adding as content releases as well as a new weapon pack list in the same manner. All our weapons need various ammo options to hunt various game appropriate for ea. Caliber.

200% agree with you there, more so if they changed the classes like I suggested along with the ammo. I firmly believe between the ammo Tiers and Animal reclass it'll make a lot more sense across the board. I'd pay $29.99 to $39.99 if it meant making it happen.

They need to pick a side between realism and arcade they can’t just sit in the middle and make super realistic and good imo changed and then make it where you can fast travel within 10 meters of an animal and it has no clue

I'm fine with how the detection is as well as the fast travel. It's better than it ever has been. Before it used to crash my game occasionally due to the spawn renders being broke as h**l for so long. If they adjust the animal Tiers with reworks both in breeding & natural ai behavior as they would Irl w/ new textures that's a huge gain with more realistic population balances. Predators need the most attention and waterfowl need population rebalances badly on RC. Also if they ditched the generalized "2 ammo (Soft/polymer tip) tier system" and re-released actual grain weight ammo (like the bow, shotgun, & 50cal ball/slug) for the appropriate Animal classes I would be 2/3rds the way satisfied for this Gen Title.

I do agree we need a 3rd gen title capable of more than the existing engine. Unfortunately, I could explain all new mechanics and features all day but the current gen is so limited its painful to see when I love this game while new gen titles have features we want so badly in this title. I think we all can agree EW's Cotw's style is favored greatly and just needs modern additions and it would have potential to be a AAA Title in due time.
