Right now you might be thinking to yourself what is a Dagga boy. And the answer to that question is it’s a name typically used for a solitary Cape buffalo bull(or other buffalo species). Now that’s all settled and out of the way let’s get to the point.
In hunting history there’s been animals that have proved themselves more dangerous than the basic deer. Big cats, bears, crocs, etc. But none more so than The Dagga Boy! These bovines will look at you like you owe them money. IRL buffalo have taken out more PHs than any other dangerous game animal. And so to hunt one of these UNITS of an animal you’re going to need to arm yourself with some pretty heavy hitting weapons.
Disclaimer: I’m unfortunately not going to add the legendary 416Rigby, now before you crucify me I’m doing this because I would rather it be the rifle for the next African map.Now For The List
- The 425 Westly Richards(The Royal Thumper): with its iconic box magazine this heavy hitter is made out of British craftsmanship and would make a fine addition to the game
- The Ruger no1 tropical 458 Lott(The Professional): With its shorter barrel the 458 is the most popular caliber amongst African PH’s today, and with its falling block action it forces you to be a good shot…so don’t miss
- The Winchester 1895 in 405(Big Medicine): the last lever gun made by John Browning this rifle was used by Teddy Roosevelt on his famous african odyssey, it’s a must for the game
- The Springfield 1873(Buff Bill): although a primarily safari related pack we can’t forget about the woolly cousins The Bison, this rifle was Buffalo Bills choice rifle when he took thousands of bison in his time
- The 600 nitro express(The Big Stick): given the name from European politicians after Roosevelt’s safari this double barrel rifle has been used by countless safari hunters from the golden age of safari’s to today, though similar to the 470 this just packs a bigger punch
And that’s that. Now go blast some Dagga Boys!
