Looking forward to seeing polls added to this forum. I think the devs and community will also benefit if the community were able to create their own polls with questions that the team may not consider asking.

Here are some suggestions if the team would be kind enough to consider:

  1. Should we reset the population of all bears in the next update?
    • Yes/No
  2. Should all rabbits and hares be added to the lot electronic caller?
    • Yes/No
  3. Which quality of life feature do you most want to see added?
    • Rare furs highlighted on the harvest screen
    • Zone times added to the codex as they are discovered
  • Option to silence or control waterfowl sounds
  1. Should spotting knowledge skill show fur type when spotting animal?
  2. Which animal would you like to see updated next?
  • long list....
  1. Should it be mandatory that all Great Ones are available on the two base maps, Layton Lakes and Hirschfielden?
    • Yes/No

Yes absolutely would love to have these I think this could be another good way of seeing what people want and such

It does present a potential problem in which something like this will only represent the thoughts of the engaged players who use the forums like discord and reddit. 'Core' players as Jaxy put it. I think a poll system is better though than just listening to streamers who are mostly grinders - not hating on grinders! Hopefully this will give a voice to casual players who don't grind but do put in a significant amount of time and kills into the game. I do about 150-200 a week but most of that is waterfowl with a shotgun and deer with a bow.
Ultimately, they need to keep encouraging all their players from leaving and that includes new players, non-engaged players, casuals and grinders. Every decision will come down to this. I think the polls will potentially be a great resource for harvesting a better profile of their users and help to navigate plans and roadmaps which benefit a wider spectrum of their players.

They announced earlier this week on live stream that they were starting to do polls so I don't think we can take credit for it. But it's fantastic that they've got right into it and the first poll is a really great question.👍 🏆

question #3 is very subjective and could be quite long ... unless the devs already have a short list of UI updates they are prepared to work on ....

Another suggestion: Setting for FOV while aiming. Higher FOV increases FPS by a lot, and immersion - at least to me, by a lot. No reason for this to not be in the game...

It's nice to have polls, but as I've seen reading around here there needs to be some better work implementing them.

That said, several times now Jaxy has commented on the streams concerning players requests for lodges, or player customization, etc but how when polls are put up with those options everyone gravitates toward new maps, animals, weapons etc. Of course players want those things and like the new weapon poll it's probably based on snap reactions or uninformed decisions. Maybe not. But the only real way a new lodge or customization will be considered is if that's what the poll is directed toward. Have the poll be something like 1.) A new lodge 2.) Character Customizations 3.) A new dog. That's it. Don't put them up against weapons, maps or animals. They'll lose everytime. Then you can do your follow-up poll with what style of lodge 1.) African 2.) Japanese 3.) North American; or with the clothes, 1.) Real Tree brand type camo 2.) military camo 3.) Orange or flannel ; and dogs, 1.) Pointer 2.) Flush 3.) tree or even new breeds of the bloodhound or retriever.

I just think having a specific point of focus on an area (maybe untouched or overlooked) should be by themselves in a poll instead of grouped casually with everything. Guns with guns, animals with animals, maps with maps, etc. (side note on that last one, with all the map suggestions we put here as ideas, can you imagine if they did a poll for a community choice next map. Give us three options and we pick the direction. That'd be crazy)

Anyway, just my two cents on all this.

It would be interesting to see, how much of player base are grinders as there seems to be lots of discussion on grinding. So, I would like to see a poll on something like "what is your playing style : grinder, wanderer, mission-based, chaotic?".

Yeah I agree. Usually the noisy part of people might not be the biggest group. Some kind of poll might give some kind of idea but EW should make sure that also not so active people would take part. Maybe they could give some kind of cosmetic pack as a gift for answering the poll and that way get those people active that usually aren't

Yeah when it comes to a poll don't group core game items like a new map against a secondary item like a trophy lodge .... Poll the secondary items together ... Like trophy lodge, UI improvements, weapons pack .....

Regardless of the numbers of casual, grinder or both i think both options should be supported

It would be interested if the poll said something like .... Do you grind exclusively, Hunt Excursively, Or a mixture of both .... Think 95% of the players would be option 3 ....
