#New Bear Drink Time Not Working for Brown Bear on Xbox

So I wanted to hunt brown bear during the daytime on Revontuli, since the new drink time is supposed to be for all bear species. I'm on Xbox. I used my tents and tripods that are set up for whitetail, and went in during the night drink time (20-00). I shot 12 bears levels 6-8. I exited the game all the way, and restarted. Rotated through all the same zones in the daytime (4-8). No bears. Thought it might be lynx chasing them off. Did it again, no bears. Changed time to night again, and the bears I shot had respawned at night - I kept track of the levels I got in each zone. Maybe this new bear drink time isn't working for Xbox, or brown bears, but something isn't right. 🐻

Follow up info: I've shot a total of 30 brown bears now during night drink time on Revontuli, still not one bear drinking during the day. Some of them were respawns, so they are respawning at night. I haven't blown the zones - used tripods and didn't take more than 2 from a zone, plus in daytime the zones are still on the map and say 20-0. I've harvested every one, as always. Can't make even one bear respawn to day drink time. Again, I'm on Xbox. 🐻

I posted this in Feedback this morning. I can't find any official statement saying that this affects all bears. What they've given us is so vague, as per usual.

I started a brown bear clearance on a Revontuli. I think after reading this I will pause with playing Call Of The Wild until we have some clarity from EW.

Sorry, no, they're still drinking only at night. I meant there are no pending updates in my Xbox queue.

Just confirmed that other elements of last week's update are active in the game: my Saltwater Crocs are now Class 8 instead of 7; the Revolver has a speed-loader; and I can Customize my Binoculars.

Lady Legend just posted a video on the new bear drink time. She ran all over Yukon blasting level 6-9 males at night. Not a single daytime respawn. Went to Medved and shot every bear, males and females, and what do you know, there be bears! 🐻

I have not shot a single female bear since the update. I have shot 30 males, with no daytime respawns. If anyone at EW cares for a little beta testing, I'd be glad to shoot a rotation of both males and females on this same map to see if that is what's required to turn them on in the day.

So, does this mean:

  1. they only respawn if you shoot the ENTIRE population or
  2. this is only working on certain maps like Medved.

Right. It's an absolute mess, whatever is meant to be happening. 😂
In all seriousness though, I'm going to take a break from COTW until they sort this out. It's not nice but it's good that the creator partners are also experiencing this. Maybe it will encourage them to act upon it faster.

I can confirm that the drinking schedule change affected all bear species in all reserves. The patch notes have been updated to include this information.

wouldnt go that far to say they need to be fired 😮 but i guess most players, especially casual players with not that much time and no existing grinding setup can agree that the experiment failed. pro players with enough time and grind setup might not have any problem to kill all bears at nighttime, but every other player will need wayyy to long to get every bear to morning drinktime.
a bug is something else of course, thats unfortunate for everyone

I'm not sure there is a bug. My respawns appeared in the morning when I force quit out the program and then logged back in. But I'm on Xbox and I have to do this after each hunt to get my respawns. No idea if it is meant to be like this or how it works for everyone else.

As for the 'experiment', well, to be fair, they were upfront about it from the beginning. It was a trial and we now know why resets are horrible but important and ultimately the fairest option for all. They dropped the ball a little with the delivery of the patch notes but we live and learn and we should probably move on.

I very much look forward to the reset.

I started a black bear great one grind and found the nighttime drink zones. shot the males and went back to daytime and now I have no respawns of any males. Ran my silver ridge map 4 times in the night and day trying to find zones and I can't find anymore. I did however notice that the feed time is 4a-8a which is the new drink time. Please just do a population reset
