Not sure if this was ever brought up anywhere in discord, but how great wpuld it be to have access to every weapon you own at the rifle or archery ranges. It would be so convienet to have quick access to everything so you could practice, and compare all your firearms.
If it was too hard to add to Hirsh, maybe add a new range to an upcoming map with a weapons storage implemented.

There is a weapons locker snugged up against a storage pod at the shooting range on Hirschfelden.

As you enter the range, the locker is left of the stairs just before you enter the firing line/stations.

A new range always sounds cool.

[ I think it would be helpful to have metal animal species’ target silhouettes to shoot at as well. Two silhouettes side-by-side so you can practice a follow up multi-target scenario.

If you land a quick kill score or vital sector, then the metal target would fall over soon to pop back up.

One would know they hit the target because of the metallic, “ting” noise, but you would also know that you sent out a properly placed shot because the target would fall over in confirmation of a vital impaction.

If the caliber of cartridge is being pushed to too far of a distance for vital organ penetration, then the target ceases to fall over resulting in a lower pitched “clang” or audible report of some sort. ]

@tribal sparrow ...really?... I'm going to have to pay closer attention I guess. I don't play with any points of interest icons, or glowing tracks, or tracking cones, I like to play as realistic as possible. I guess I just didn't notice the locker.

Parque doesn’t have one though!

One thing I really like about the way they did the range at Hirsch. The targets’ black rings look like they’re based off the international targets you would see for competitions.

The targets’ black circles are usually ~8 inches in diameter so you can calculate how much your drop is without having to invest in a perk for zeroing.

[ Disclaimer ] - If you do this, make sure you’re using the same scope/optic for your testing throughout or your data may become skewed if you switch scopes at any point.

Ie. - I use the Hyperion scope when I observe performance on a new rifle, regardless if it’s not a new caliber because you will see different performance from models that use the same caliber and ammunition.

Parque could benefit from an addition of a weapon locker..

I’ve always thought that Medved or perhaps a new snow map would be a prime venue for another outdoor rifle range so you don’t have to worry about a higher temperature/humidity issues like mirage effect.

Also, black metal targets’ shapes may be easier to discern with snow on the ground and backstop.

I don’t believe, currently in game, the humidity affects velocity, so there would be no downside to low temperature and humidity extremes hindering firearm performance.

Hey Dawormer,

Thanks for sharing your idea about having a weapons locker at the ranges! It's a fantastic suggestion and would indeed be incredibly convenient for players to have access to all their weapons while practicing at the rifle or archery ranges.

Your idea of adding a new range to an upcoming map with a weapons storage implemented is definitely worth exploring.

We've taken note of your suggestion and will pass it along to the rest of the team for consideration. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve the game and enhance the player experience.

# mint seal Why not add a gun locker then… it’s easy to code.

I agree, some of the simplest things that are asked for are really small things to code. I don’t know the bigger picture though, what’s the cost to pull a team member from a current project to have them work on another, how much of a delay does it cause to both projects at this point. I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes.
