QOL would increase player retention, increase likelihood of players purchasing DLC which in turn keeps the game alive longer, which we all want.

  • Rare Fur type indicator in harvest screen and spotting knowledge skill allows player to see fur type in spotting status box.

  • Map markers, give us a main waypoint then let us add like 20 POI markers for our maps.

  • Animal score rework. Give animals scores based on 1 to 100. Bronze 0-40, silver 40 - 75, gold 75 - 90, Diamond 90+ and 100 being max. It’s extremely confusing seeing a duck flying around with a 1,200 score then a moose with a 270 score. It’s too difficult for experienced, let alone new players to remember all these crazy scores. It’s a burden point

  • Animal difficultly level rework, 1 trivial - 9 legendary. Just have 5 levels? Trivial(female), easy(bronze), medium(silver), hard(gold), legendary(diamond). Again it’s a burden point and confusing for new players to remember this animal only goes to level 5 but then there’s a few animals like whitetail that randomly only go to level 3 similar to a bird or rabbit then it goes all the way to level 9 for predators. Make all animals fall within the same level range but still be able to cross over into lower/higher levels with score estimate.

  • Decrease troll percentage and make it uniform across animals. Max level animals be somewhere around 80% diamond, 20% Troll. Trolls are far too frequent specially for reindeer, Roos and goats. On the flip side animals like banteng commonly make diamond at level 4. It just needs to be uniform. Adjusting percentage also makes diamonds more rare since less gold scoring animals will spawn as a max level. This gives an added challenge since trolls still exist & really means something when a max level spawns.

  • Animals spooking from predators other than bears. It’s so odd to see bears and other animals happily coexisting in the same drinking zone or to see a bear spook from a lynx. Bears should be treated as a predator.

So… animals like black bears are scored true to real life, those are measurements not random numbers pulled out of their ass, not too sure about ducks though, not a big duck hunter irl.

Right but the scoring system for 90% of all the other animals isn’t. There aren’t 300+ mule deer walking around. Or 250+ whitetails. Just trying to make a simple scoring system. Truracks can still exist.

It’s just a game, I don’t really care what they score animals, just make it simple and uniform.

So what I’m hearing is, EW should talk to some scoring officials, and talk about how scoring works to get a somewhat accurate scoring in their wonderful game.

You gotta be trolling right? I don’t care how they wanna score animals but make it simpler. There’s way too many scores to remember what scores what without having an insane memory or a guidebook (not provided by them). Just make a scoring system that’s uniform across all animals & birds. Just reread the post, why are you trying to start something?

The scores and difficulties make the game more interesting in my opinion

When it comes to the trolls - I would decrease the chance of it being a troll just with some species (Caribou, Reindeer, Sambar Deer,..), but not all animals

-Animal harvest Score is similar to those used in real life is different for each species.
The Trurac current system is very complex and is determined by the number of points, thickness and length of the antlers, they did a good job there.
Until 2020 we had standard scores for each animal that went up to 1,000 and really looked too artificial.

Just like in real life not all high weight animals are Perfect Trophies, the maximum difficulty of an animal is reached when the animal is approximately 95% of its maximum weight, IRL all animals reach this weight in adulthood, Even so, most of them are not decent Trophies.

More than a QoL improvement I would say that you want the game to be easier 🫤

I don’t want gameplay to be easier. The scoring and level system suggestion is to try and help new players become part of the player base and don’t give up. I tried to get my friends and brother to play this game but there’s such a steep learning curve they gave it up. I’m sure you remember first playing this game, I definitely found it confusing and had to watch tons of videos on YouTube to figure it out.
