#Add Finnish Forest Reindeer To Revontuli Coast.

So This Has Been Something That Has Been Highly Requested By The Community (And Something That I’ve Really Wanted Since Revontuli Released). The Current Reindeer Models Could Simply Be Used For Them.

There Are Limited Amount Of Permits That Allow Hunting Of Reindeer In Northern Finland. The Mountains Of Revontuli Are Based Off Of The Northern Third Of Finland, Which Is Where Reindeer Are Most Dense And Where Most Hunting Takes Place. They Would For Perfectly As A New Big Game Animal On The Map, As Revontuli Could Use Some More.

I think it can be said that there’s only going to be one Finnish map in the entirety of CotW, so why not add forest reindeer?

Could also provide a reason to remodel them and caribou

yes please, more caribou more better

@serene iron with a look like this I think a retexture is needed because they look clearly different and wouldn't fit the revontuli environment as good as looking like the tundra reindeer

What existing animal species would you remove or reduce to make room for them? I suspect the number of existing species on the map already pushes the game engine to its limits

I would say the White-tail should have a more limited distribution instead

Their real life distribution in Finland is apparently restricted to the southern parts but are slowly expanding north

It would make a bit more room for the Forest Reindeer

I’d say Canada goose, throw them on NEM and Te instead.

How about both, and maybe cut the number of moose spawns. Moose don't show up in those numbers IRL and personally I'm tried of them being everywhere

As I mentioned regarding White-tails, they could be restricted to either the Southern Half or even the Southern Third of the map given how restricted their real life distribution in Finland is, therefore making room for Forest Reindeer. As for Mallards and Canade Geese, in my opinion the Mallards can stay on Revontouli but for Canada Geese, I would rather see them on more North American Maps (And if it was possible replace the Canada Geese on Hirschfelden with Greylags)

Honestly would have preferred roe deer map 3 than WT map 4

Roe and caribou/reindeer would make Revontuli so much more interesting for me, not really a fan of Cuatro

Unpopular opinion but revontulis roster was chosen quit badly. Wood Pidgeons, Huns, woodcocks, or Pheasants would all be better Uplands birds then ptarmigan, willow ptarmigan in the Lappland area would have been very okay tho but not at the southern finish coast. Whitetail deer dont fit very well especially in the amounts that they are found in, moose are severely over populated especially in the south as are brown bears who should have a more limited range. Instead of the whole Lappland area a more subtle northern forest would have helped a lot they could have made the north east like that.

Regarding waterfowl I really missed a swampy area I also feel Canada and bean goose not as optimal fits. Mallards are really not needed. They missed Finnlands most iconic game bird the eider who could easily have been found along the entire coast. I also missed pintails and shovelers.
Here is the species selection I would have shosen to create the optimal nordic map.

Waterfowl.
-graylag goose
-common eide
-velvet scoter
-greater white fronted goose
-northern shoveler
-eurasian teal
-tufted ducks
-common goldeneye

Upland game
-common wood Pidgeon
-woodcock
-black grouse
-willow ptarmigan (north only)
-capercallie
-hazel grouse

Mammals
-beaver
-european badger
-racoon dog
-mink
-roe deer
-white tailed deer (south only)
-moose
-european hare
-mountain hare
-finish forest reindeer

Possible other species
-hungarian patridge
-eurasian lynx
-barnacle goose(not included due to limited legality)
-multiple species of gull
-wild boar
-brown bear
-ringed seal

I'm gonna be honest with you, I see why they did it the way they did, but as far as I'm concerned I'm just sick of waterfowl (that opinion was carved in stone on Vurhonga since those stupid birds ruined my favorite way to play that map)
Upland birds are fine, I like them as they are if not for that grounded status fifteen feet from the ground.
Mammals are cool as they are but I do like the idea of less moose spawns and roe deer replacing whitetail on most of the map. Wild boar are cool too, but I really want the caribou/reindeer there
Brown bear are fun (WHY AREN"T THEY CLASS 8 LIKE GRIZZLIES???) and seals would be great to make the map unique

I use the longbow mostly so I gotta get really close, that 15 seconds of quacking has covered up warning calls and spooks so many times its wasted hours for me and I can't stand them

I wish they'd taken more cues from Classic for this game
