So we found out today that several species are having their weapon classes changed. Bobcats will now be Class 2, Pronghorn will now be Class 3, both elk subspecies will now be Class 7, and Grizzly Bears will now be Class 8.
As a result of these changes, I think the .270 and 6.5mm rifle calibers really should be reclassed to be Class 3-7 weapons. That would at least give us some good centerfire rifles to hunt Pronghorn with, while also making those two calibers far more useful. Plus, it actually makes ZERO sense to be able to shoot Moose (still a very tough Class 8 species) with these incredibly underpowered rifles for Moose. Also, realistically speaking, using a .270 or 6.5 Creedmore caliber rifle for hunting Grizzly Bears (which will now be Class 8) seems very unwise in my opinion, to put it nicely.
Also, now that Gemsbok will be Class 6, I think the .300 Magnum rifle should be changed to Weapon Class 6-9. After all, Class 6 animals like Red Deer, Blue Wildebeest, and now Gemsbok as well, are frequently hunted with .300 caliber rifles in real life. Plus, if we get a more powerful Class 7-9 weapon like many people have suggested, the .300 caliber will be made obsolete in the game if it remains only usable for Classes 7-9.
