introductory concepts related to Hunt:

Game Animal: is any wild animal hunted for animal products (primarily meat), for recreation (sporting), or for trophies, they are animals that, having been designated by federal or state regulations, can be hunted within regular seasons in which their hunting pressure does not threaten their survival in the natural environment.

Wildlife: means all species of animals which are defined as "wildlife" and are protected or otherwise regulated by statute, law, regulation, ordinance, or administrative rule in a party state. "Wildlife" also means food fish and shellfish as defined by statute, law, regulation, ordinance, or administrative rule in a party state. Species included in the definition of "wildlife" vary from state to state and determination of whether a species is "wildlife" for the purposes of this compact shall be based on local law.

Hunter: person who, carrying a qualifying firearms license and having complied with the terms, conditions, federal and state regulations along with a qualifying hunting license, can shoot game animals within the legally established hunting seasons and/or permitted conditions or lands.

The game from its beginnings until today has only chosen to include only game species that can be killed and harvested, however this leaves a huge gap in the reserves in terms of real diversity of animals and organisms.

During days of hunting, hiking or exploring nature we encounter several species of wildlife that cannot be hunted and just finding or photographing them is a satisfaction. One that we cannot have in the game and it breaks the simulation a bit...

We know that adding a new animal to a map reduces the amount of population of the other existing ones (Currently more than 3500 animals per reserve), taking this into account along with what I explained above:

WOULD THE COMMUNITY BE WILLING TO GIVE UP, say, 100 animals, TO ADD A SMALL AMOUNT OF WILDLIFE SPECIES TO EACH RESERVE?

Currently with the implementation of the Great One we have a reward for the Grinder hunting mode, however for there is no incentive for Organic hunting mode and exploration (other than the satisfaction of seeing the incredible recreation of scenarios created by the development team) since it is practically impossible to obtain a GO by hunting organically and in a reasonable period of time..
I know there will be few hunters who currently enjoy this type of game but it would be great to have another incentive to do it.

There are many activities that can be carried out during a day of hunting, mushrooming, shedding, bird watching, wildlife photography, if there is an engine that can emulate those experiences, it is undoubtedly Apex Engine.

I'm a casual hunter and have only herd managed one species, reindeer. Never grinded, never seen a great one, not bothered about them and have put in over 3000 hours. I'd rather there weren't wildlife in the game that can't be hunted. At a distance they may be harder to distinguish too, especially at night or in poorer weather conditions. Definitely a no from me.

I see this as mostly pointless on console until we get a working camera

Also, devs using up theirr time on sophisticated non-huntable animal mechanics is not a great use of resources.

I don't think the developers want it.

I vote no on that. Already hate the birds that aren't real. Camera on console NEEDS to be fixed so it's usable and pics are savable.

I would rather they remove the fake birds from the game.

It’s a hunting game, not a biologist or hiking game.

Yea, I hunt. I do see non-game species while hunting. However, I don’t hunt to look at cranes, storks, or woodpeckers. People hunt to harvest game and a hunting game should reflect that.

If there were rewards for finding and photographing wildlife many would do it, as well as collecting seedlings, mushrooms, collectibles, I still use a couple of hours to walk through Medved Taiga and try photograph a Weasel xD
It's been 4 years since I have this profile and I still haven't seen one, although I still find collectibles

Currently there is no incentive to explore the maps if the trophies are only found on the other side of a lake...

Re Camera: They'd first have to fix the camera for xbox (not sure about playstation) before they could roll this out.
Re Wildlife Flora: I wouldn't mind something that added something educational to each map.
Re Wildlife Fauna: They already have small wildlife but I think depicting more animated, detailed or larger could possibly be too much of a strain on the engine though. So not sure if this would ever happen.

Now for the dislike opinion I do not want to give up 100 animals to hunt for some non huntable species in a perfect world we'd have a better game and just generally better things but we aren't living in a perfect world and that's the harsh reality of life the devs already work hard to make a map and some DLC's and cosmetics etc but out of the entire cotw dev team who's gonna be working on animals that don't actually affect gameplay all that much other than photography or just general viewing they don't serve a purpose and EW needs profit that's why maps and weapon and equipment DLCS cost money cause they need money in order to be able to make more content and put food on the table and live.

I probably didn't actually state my opinion but if I didn't then I'll continue later

3500 total animals, if there are 10 species on the map then there are 350 per species, more than half are females, almost no one hunts females, if 10 females disappear I don't think it represents a problem
