Instead of quail and hazel grouse and other upland species spooking as soon as they see or hear you they stayed in place in a hideaway like a pile of sticks or tall grass for example. There is already a mechanic where animals hide away with the euro rabbit for example but the birds or rabbits stay in it until you walk near or on them but there is no way to know where they are exactly like you could see a row of grass and there is a 50/50 chance there is a bird in there. The same mechanic could also be used for other species like foxes for example. A little imagery for you is your hunting with your shotgun out walking around on some med high grass and outta nowhere a flock of quail shoot up outta the grass. It would really improve the games upland hunting aspect and really draw players to hunt small game more instead of being forcused on big game. Also it could add a use for a pointer or flushing dog. The little white birds they added as decoration really act like pheasant to me 😂
